Hi all.. any of you test driven the 9x5 eclipse on the V3 yet ??? i am using the 5'3 & super 12" and could do with somethin in the middle !!! would appreciate any feedback !!!

regards rob

If you are talking about the 6 X 10 DD eclipse coil it is one of my favorite coils to use. It stayed on the MXT I had and now I have one for the V3. I do not pay attention to what the ground probe suggest, but adjust everything where the V3 is running smoothly. It has great depth and target seperation and to me is a great all around coil to use ie. tot lots, parks, yards and woods. Saturday I hit a pockect spill at 8" with the V3 and 6 X 10 DD coil. I too have the 5.3 and it surprised me at the depth and target seperation it has great coil in trashy areas. Hope this is helpful to you.

Carl as far as tweeks go for the Deep Silver program the obvious would be increasing the RX gain The Disc. Sensitivity and the All Metal Sens. if the ground allows. Also you might experiment with the Ground Filters, the pre set setting is 10 High Band but I have found that I git much better depth and much smoother operation using 7.5 Band filter. If it is not too trashy which would be a miracle for a old home site you might increase the Recovery Speed slightly which would allow the V3 a longer look at the target. If the ground is trashy you will probably have to decrease the Recovery Speed and shorten the look at the target, experimenting with Best Data and Corelate may be beneficial also. I have also found that in trashy areas Locking the Autotrack helps quiet the V3, you can still ground balance in the normal way by pumping the coil and holding the enter button even with the track locked. Best of luck.

Thank You cx3 I will give that a try. I have only had the V3 out three times so far and I must say it is a great machine and I look forward to learning all of the adjustments that can help produce the deeper finds.

Carl, have you compared the 4x6 to the 6x10? I have both for my V3 but haven't gotten around to using the 6x10 yet. Does the 6x10 get a little extra depth?

Yes the 6 X 10 will give you a lot more depth than the 4 x 6. The 6 X 10 is my favorite go to coil and is a great all around coil to hunt with in trashy areas and open areas as well as woods. But the 4 X 6 will really shine in very trashy areas.

I removed my 4x6 coil, installed the 6x10 and could not get it to stabilize. I will have to do some tweaking to get the 6x10 to work. Do you have any programing tips. I live in SLC Utah and was basically using the stock coin and jewelery program. I messed with the Rx gain, Disc. and all metal settings with no success. My detector sounded like it was receiving a message in Morse code????
