I went back to the 70 acre field I've been investigating. I've recovered many 1700's era flat buttons, just a matter of time before Colonial money starts showing itself. Found this 1781 1/2 Real this morning.

Not very deep - 4 inches. The key is that the site doesn't appear to have been worked before. Also, very clean. Appears that the this part of the field has been cleared/plowed for many years.Congratulations! It's a superb find. How deep was it?
