Thought I would repost in CW forum so CCH would'nt dog me out ;) Bone tiring hunt w/Deus yesterday.
Couldn't manage a button but found a few keepers. Posted in Finds forum also if you want to look. Any of
you guys seen or heard of a 16 Ga. pinfire shotgun primer? It's to the right of the broken bottleneck.
Included iron pics so people can see what relic hunting involves.

HH and MERRY CHRISTMAS!! okie

I have a pin fire 12 and it’s lacking any marks other than “12”. Pin fire is old for sure. If that’s what it is it’s in fantastic shape!

Thanks Iowa and 7cents!! Iowa always talks about the tree roots, where I was diggin is that plus
golf and baseball sized sandstone. Sink the Predator 2 inches and CLUNK! Hand digger works better on those
holes but it do wear a brother out!
HH and Merry Christmas okie

Good finds. And you sure are right about the iron and relic hunting.

Thanks Terry!! Jeff and 407floyd IDed my shotgun primer. 407 said it was made by Eley Brothers of London, Eng.
started mfg. them in 1825. Shout out to those guys!! I notice you are on really early hrs. Do you get up this early
for work or work at night? I'm just up because I'm up, can't go to sleep, guess I'm thinking about Santa!
HH and Merry Christmas okie

HH and MERRY CHRISTMAS!! okie
Good hunting Okie. 7 hours of digging holes is tough. Use to I could hunt 7, 8 hours and still be full of spit and vinegar. Now if I get in 4 hours I have to sit in the truck 30 minutes waiting for my hind end to catch up so I can leave.
Merry Christmas to you too.

Yessir, 2 much I hear that! Towards the end I wasn't diggin much and that's when fatigue sets in.
No adrenaline spikes to keep you goin. You know the story!
HH okie

Man, twenty years ago I used to hunt for hours but now my back and bones won't allow that so I hunt as long as I can then go home.

After some research, the pinfire headstamp I found is Eley Bros. of London 16 Ga. By 1860 they were making
pinfire shotshells. Prior to that were making pistol and rifle pinfire cartridges starting in 1828.
Thanks again to Jeff, 407floyd, and IowaRelic on the ID!! I won't forget about your assistance.
HH and Merry Christmas!! okie
