6" Coil

anyone used the 6" Coil ?

got to take one for a spin and well was underwhelmed it looks so small on the end of that big pole, didn't get any deeper than 4" on a penny took it too a park with shallower 6 to 8" targets and iron have worked this site hard managed 1 silver in a few hrs of testing, maybe that's good but i was expecting more out of this coil in unmasking some hidden targets maybe the 11" coil is all i am needing because there are not many spots with shallow targets, guess after using detech 6" coil on etrac was expecting to be hitting 7 to 8" but just not seeing it with 06 Coil.

anyone got any other feedback?

I'm not a fan of using smaller coils to unmask targets - especially with DD's. I like the 'go slow' method better. With a DD coil, you already have a narrow sweet spot. Having said that, I know there are some really trashy areas that do require a smaller coil.

With the much faster recovery delay of the 3030, the go slow method should be even more productive.

where did you get to try one? are they finally starting to surface???? I dont think many people have had the chance with their limited availability.

Gonna be a bunch o disappointed hombres if that's the case... I cant see it having less depth than the X-5 & 6" Excelerator...wildherre

What are the air test numbers like with the 6" coil. The stock coil seemed to get about what the E-Trac's stock got in air. For me to buy the 6" coil I'd like it to get some decent depth to see between the iron. I think 8"-9" is fair (other machines with 5" coils get more than that e.g. - F75Ltd). If it doesn't get that kind of depth then I'm with what Reese said.

well best to wait see what others have to say before ruling this coil out, its only my findings, and need more time but haven't found a coin of any size over 5" and not many of them. hey but it has found coins just not deep or as many as i would have thought, the deep part is facts the thought part is my expectations :stars:

just wanted to see what others had found with this coil to make a more informed decision.

I ordered mine from Kellyco when I ordered the machine, the machine made it, no coil and no news of it....

Thought the smaller coil was designed for getting in and out of shrubs and bushes and tall stubble grass. Also for trashy areas with the expectation to find shallow jewelry and possible shallow silver that was possibly being masked in the Asteroid junk belt..All the ones ive used pretty much gave up the same results except for the SEF 8x6 coil for my E-Trac when i had it. That little SEF was a beast, nailed quarters like nothing at 8". Never did i think once about gaining much depths with them. The 11" coil for the 3030 is amazing. I'm eyeballing that 17" coil. HH
