6" Coil Epiphany

Kittlitz I don't think that's a good idea with deep on the detector has to process more information than fast on slowing it down , what you want is a detector working as fast as it can to separate coins from junk without blending the signals together that's what fast does. Recovery deep processes more info to give better id than fast on . And as far as depth there is no deference . sube

Thanks, Sube!

One more thing at least in my Oregon soil, I can routinely run my 6" coil at much higher sensitivity than either my 11" or 17" coil.
It has amazed me on several occasions with it's smooth quiet operation and more than reasonable depth.

Most favorite use is curb strips.

Love it in woodsy, rocky areas as well.
Arm never gets tired after hours and hours of use.

I finally hit silver with the 6 inch, interestingly the both rang up at 1241 one was 5 inches The other 7 inches , both Rosies... Later in the day found an cool little silver ring at 8 inches. I'm stoked that I finally found , silver with this coil, I'll keep it close by for places it makes sense but for now back to the stock coil...

Thanks for all the great testimonials about the 6" coil. I got so inspired I went out and bought one -- can't wait to get out tomorrow and try it out.

First day report using new 6" coil: one 1916 barber dime, one 1948D Roosevelt dime, two wheats (1939S & 1948D), a handful for memorial cents and clad dimes and quarters and dozens of aluminum screw caps. Unfortunately, the aluminum screw caps read all the way up to 12-47 in this park.

I tried it but lacked the patience necessary....prefers going slow and analyzing a target a little more, and not missing any possibly deeper items...
