5900 di pro sl question

Got the detector back from whites with a clean bill of health. Gave it a test run with the Bigfoot coil and picked up about $5.00 in clad in a couple of hours at the sports complex. Question for you old pros. Noticed that the meter doesn't lock on to a good target but moves slightly as I sweep over the target. Is this normal?
Yes, it is normal to sometimes have a slight movement. It's not much different from newer models with an LCD display with VDI numbers, they might be tight or they might vary slightly, because (as Hombre stated) a target might be canted, or might have something nearby. It might also be challenging ground, a slightly off-center sweep of the search coil, or a number of variables.

Glad you got the 5900 back and it sounds like it's working fine.
