5" Nel sharpshooter coil vs 8" stock coil Eurotek pro?

I use the 5x9 sharpshooter on my Gamma and it works good for all around hunting and is not too bad in EMI situations with the heavy wiring. I use the stock concentric coil 5.5 x 9 (10 inch) on my Omega. To Me, this is just a elongated 5.5 inch coil. It is a good all around coil, with reasonable depth. It works better than the sharpshooter in real close metal structures. I'm not saying it will work better than the sharp 5 inch coil around metal structures, but it will cover more real estate. I will try the 8 inch coil later on the Omega as well as the sharp shooter. I have no desire as of yet for the 11inch DD or the Sharp. For beach hunting I think the 11 inch would be tough to beat, the sharpshooter takes care of most my open area hunting for now.. JMO HH

Is there any advantage of the sharpshooter coil over the factory 11" Eurotek coil?
Probably not a lot if any. The NELS coils seem to have a heavier insulated wire than the Tek coils which could help some with EMI issues. I like mine and I have seen the Tek 11 inch coil on you tube (dirtfishin 11-24 Indian head find) with excellent results. I just prefer medium sized coils. JMO HH

The NEL sharp 5" coil is not a concentric coil. It is a DD coil. The same as the Teknetics 5" coil. Neither one is a concentric design. Both are DD.
I see that now...

But I'm sticking with the crappy coverage such coils give as reason to make them your second choice.
Now you've got me curious, though. What do you want the ETP to do that your other units aren't doing? Looking at the list you have most casual detecting covered. I'd consider going the other way - get the largest coil possible and make it a DEEP DETECTOR.

PS I once had one of those Whites Classics like you have, and with the relatively cheap 5" coil, it made a great sniper.

True davit, which is why I got the 13 inch ultimate. HOWEVER, in my experience, I would stay away from such a large coil, as you will be spending way too much time, as I have, trying to pinpoint and find something coin size or relic hunting (civil war bullets deep, etc). I personally want to try a sharpshooter coil to see how this works for pinpointing, which should be much better than the ultimate 13.

Since I haven't made the time to travel 3.5 hours to the nearest civil war relic hunting sites we have permission to hunt, I have been doing quite a bit of silver coin hunting in some of the local older parks, and to find a silver coin, I am digging 13 inch diameter size holes, as this coil is sensitive. Almost too sensitive for coin hunting.

But in civil war relic hunting, it SHINES :)
