5.75" coil

the 5.75 coil for this detector is NOT the u-max coil!
it is the "hot" technology coil which has different electrical
characteristics than the u-max coil!

Wrong Jmaryt,
The only Tesoros using HOT (Widescan) technology coils are the Lobo ST, Tejon, Vaquero and Cibola. I am looking for the 5.75 Concentric coil which the DeLeon most certaintly does use. Check the web, what I am asking for is correct. You can learn which coils go with which units at www.tesoro.com/product/coils/

i already know, and i made an honest mistake!..i was thinking (cibola) when i made the recommendation, however
i realize now upon reflection, that you stated it was the (delorean!)....in any event ,i hope you find one!..they are readily available,
and i am positive one will show up!

Ya mean one of these? :poke:

kool!..he tried to save the company by makin' a drug buy!
unfortunately,he got caught!..i liked the car, however it was too expensive
(25,000.00) out the gate!..in 1981,that was a TON of money!

I have not tried a 5.75 concentric but am looking for a used one. I think the concentric might be better in the open, but the tradeoff will be the widescan has been so good at finding targets that are very tight to obstructions. Anyone out there using both?

I have both coils and I have a vaquero and a diablo umax and a whites gmt gold master with the stock coil at 48hz.If I put the 5.75 concentric coil on my vaquero or my diablo umax it will blow away the gmt with the stock coil on small gold. The concentric coil must be a killer on coins on edge. The wide scan gets better coverage but it is not near as hot on small targets.

I tried a 5.75 concentric coil this past weekend with my Cibola and this thing is awesome. Some of my favorite places to hunt are in ankle deep water along the rivers edge where the sand is eroded away exposing the rocks and all sort of debris underneath. I have found good things here before, but it is very difficult with all the junk that is there. Well, using the 5.75 I found all kinds of things including some decent older coins. This coil will be getting a lot of use.

Looks like my below post (question) on the 5.75 widescan was pretty much answered on this thread.-----Question was asked here about record # of coin finds in one day.--This is a hunt my wife & I did in April, 2008.--I started detecting in 1975 & I've never seen anything like it (for numbers) before or since.--Also, bear in mind that it was 2 of us that did the hunt (my wife & I).-----Anyway, 677 coins in one day---186 were quarters---230 were dimes & the rest were nickels and pennies.----I was so "pooped" before it was over that I could hardly swing my detector.---My wife finally just gave up and went & set in the car, resting.-----For the most part, all those coins were found singly--a few "hits" produced 2 or 3 coins in the hole.---It was "a blast"--in a lot of the areas on that hunt site, you just couldn't swing your detector without getting multiple coin "hits".----As I said, I've never seen anything like it--before or since. :) -------Del

In the United States!!!---To be more explicit--in the great state of NV.----That's as "explicit" as I'm gonna get---I'm not done hunting the place. ------Del

I have stuck to using the 5.75 coils ever since I tried one. I bought a few concentric coils and couple WideScan coils. The 5.75 is my favorite for my hunting. I like the size and depth capability.

what tesoros do you use them on?..thanks!

I have the...
Tejon
Vaquero (recent buy)
Cibola
Cortes
Silver uMax
Compadre (hard-wire w/5.75)
Bandido II (actually I still have the 8" still on this one)

thanks for that!..was just wondering if you favor ONE over all the rest?
in your opinion, which one is better suited for "side walk tear ups?
or side walk easements?..thanks again!

Good question John!---I'd just ad to it--which 5.75 coil do you like the best on the BEST machine (widescan or concentric)? :) -------Del

I actually use the Compadre the most. I'm impressed with its capability, and the Silver uMax is about the same. To me, there is a fun factor, not only in the finds, but the simplicity of such detectors. Well worth the cost to me.
