5,000th coin in 2010

A good weekend for clad. Back to the old me at least for the past four days. Found 542 coins for around $56 plus a little jewelry and some relics. This afternoon I went out for an hour at the hottest part of the day needing a few dozen coins to hit a milestone.

Here is coin number 5,000 in 2010! Ta Dah!

FYI in 2008 I hit 5,000 in mid-June. In 2009 mid-May. This year, obviously in mid-July.

Chris

A big CONGRATS on finding your 5000 coin for this year :clapping:

:usaflag:Congrats on your 5000th !!

Congratulations on your 5000th coin. Makes me feel mighty lazy since I haven't found much this year. You and John are doing great and some of the others. I hope to start getting out more myself, if I could get to feeling better. Happy for those who are finding lots of stuff.

Very small. I reckon over my lifetime it's around one coin in every 350 is silver. Not very good but that is my style of hunting.

Chris

Keep going like that Chris and you'll surpass what John B has found. You are quite prolific! I'd love to be able to get out that often.

Where have you been hiding?

I still have a look at the forum most days, but haven't had much to say. I've also bought a couple of other detectors in the last few months, so my Garrett's have been taking a bit of a back seat. I just had a week off work to take my sons to a church camp for the kids and took all my detectors with me for one of the craft activities. they were popular and the site was one of the oldest that there is in this country, dating back to 1826! I found out just as I was finishing detecting with the kids on the last day that the site was heritage listed, but I had asked at the start of the camp if it was OK to take them detecting there. They gave permission, but did ask us to hand in any significant coins that we found, which was fine with me.
After the camp, we drove down to Sydney for a couple of days, so managed a couple of hunts for $25. The second one was an early morning one with the temp at 3 degrees Celsius. Too cold on the fingers for me, so won't hunt early in winter again.

Glad you're still around. Did you have an Xterra 705? One of you Aussie regulars here did. I am still considering one for my arsenal but rckon since my 2500 is still treating me fine I'll wait until next year.

So, did you find anything "significant?"

Chris

Very good my friend! I figure we could easily beat many of our competitors in arm wrestling with all the iron we have pumped with all those coins....:rofl::rofl:

No. Mines the 70. I bought only 3 weeks before the model changed. There are a couple of features on the 705 that I would have liked. My GTI is a keeper for sure.
