True and more to that; Before CTX, I had a different one and I gifted it away. After using CTX, I just can't imagine having any fun using anything less. IF (which I don't expect) my CTX ever goes down, I rather wait for it to be fixed than put up with a much lesser machine. YMMV

I have a small patch of woods near a railroad track that a Fisher f 75 is unusable from emi. My V3i was too erratic in 3 freq. mode, low or high frequency. I could only use medium here. A friend uses a nautilus and had to turn it all the way down to use it. Think there is a underground power line here. I can use my ctx 3030 from 25-30 sensitivity and gain at least 25 and dig minnie balls measured to 16" deep. I find in all the places so far it is the quietest high powered detector. I

That's odd. The other day, I checked property I just got a permission for (waited 6+ months to get it). Cell tower was like 100 yards away and I had ZERO problems having everything in auto.
I used to have a brand name cheap detector and I know for a fact that CTX can be used in places where my previous detector was useless. To be perfectly honest, I think that you either accidentally pushed pinpoint button (it resets after power off) OR hat you had a loose connection (make sure that the connectors are screwed in completely) OR (I truly hope not) you are trolling.

I didn't accidently push the pinpoint button, even if I did I repowered the machine 20 times out there to try to get it to work.

I didn't have a lose connection, I unplugged and replugged everything in the field. And as soon as I got home the thing works great.

I'm not trolling, I have video proof. I just dont feel like uploading it right now.

Where you using the wireless module? try eliminate the wm10 being the problem as it can also have noise issues between it and the screens transmitter/receiver. if so, you can change the channel for the wm10.
try the headphones directly plugged into the ctx.

I was have problems in a park that I had hunted in before with another detector. The CTX began acting so erratic It seemed like a slot machine in a casino. I called Brian at Minelab and he asked if perhaps when I see the detector down on the ground was the coil facing the ground. I know our so in in S. CA is not too highly mineralized so I need to check to make sure the coil is upright. Just a thought.

Guvner, you mentioned turning manual down " still good depth". What are you considering good depth? When sites are bad and running at less than 10, seems like depth is 3-5" max.
Comments?

Fair enough. Clearly, you are experiencing some unusual conditions I'm not familiar with so, I can't help you. Hopefully, others can.
Good luck and may your finds NOT be pulltabs :) I'll be watching the thread - lots of good info here.
