tencents

The neatest token I've found. Got permission to do where a poor farm was located. Found this token today and a 1893 Indian yesterday 20210922_184348.jpg20210922_184332.jpg20210922_184601.jpg

I love the token!!! Very nice find!

The shape is unusual too. Any idea who issued it? I’m learning tokens can run right up there with some of the rare coins as far as value! Nice finds!!!

It was from a local business about 20 miles from where I found it but haven't found anything on it so far, the town is divided by two counties so may take a while to track it down and find what type of business it was.

Definitely an odd one. good score!!!

So I had a friend check with the president of a neighboring states token organization. The three and a third cent token replaced the 2 and a half cent token, they were mainly billiard tokens used to purchase cigars which were sold for 2 and a half cents each or 2 for a Nickle. Inflation caught up with them, the price increase was 3 for a dime or 3 and a third cents each. In this neighboring state there are 32,000 tokens listed and only 2 are for 3 and a third cent. Might be more common here in Mo. but I doubt it.
