29 Quarters in that hole!

Monday was so nice weather wise that I took a half a day of to do some detecting. I went to a local park I had not searched yet. I spent about an hour and a half on a double volley ball court and only picked up a quarter,a dime ,and 2 Penny's spent another 2 hours around the north end of the park and only picked up a dime and 3 Penny's. I could not believe the pull tabs. Geez!! I was running on all metal minus the iron and digging everything. Finally my back began to ache and I decided to work my way back to the truck. I set the ace 250 on coins only minus the nickel and headed for the truck. then I noticed every one that was on the basket ball court had left. The court is big and consists of half a dz hoops. so I thought I would take a trip around the perimeter. It ended up taking me two hours. up until I started around the court I had only found about .40. by the time I left I had 10.50 in clad. At one point my ace 250 went a little crazy hopping from dime to quarter to penny and just dinging away so I pin pointed the target. it was reading 2 inches. I ran the pro pointer over the spot and it gave me a solid constant tone. I slid my knife in and made a small hole and low and behold there were quarters everywhere. 29 in all. I spent another ten minutes in that area just to make sure I got every thing. the slight down side to this is that I got up Tuesday morning and could barely get out of bed. I ended up taking another half a day off work to see a doctor about my back. Luckily it was just a strain and nothing serious. ( I have had back problems the last 20 years) Any way it was worth the pain to have a hunt like I did the day before. Just not going to be able to hunt again for a few more days.

WTG blade sounds like a good hunt in the end!!

Stories like that always make me wonder...HOw did that come about??? Who drops that many quarters in one spot without noticing it? Did 29 differsnt people drop one each in the same spot? Just make me curious. Thougth I did okay tonight but cant' come close to that. Behind the bench at a seldom used baseball diamond ( It's low and water and mud are the rule most times:) I dug 9 pennies. 4 nickles and 3 dimes out of one hole. I was pretty proud of that but now I'm hanging my head in shame. Sigh! Congratulations and keep up the good hunting

:usaflag:My first thought was that someone bought a roll of quarters for laundry day and lost them when they sat down. Geez..and I thought finding four stacked together was fun. Nice !

coin hunt for kids was held..and the kids LOST!!! :nopity:

I stheer a csino near by? Up until afew years ago, casinos used to use change, not paper printouts like they do now!

Yeah I've found silver dollar tokens from Vegas and Reno. Thought they were real silver dolllars at first and my old heart got to thumping until I got a good look at them but they're still worth a buck if I ever go there. Also found some from the casinos in Washington.
