28 Personal Ring TID's results

Buried Crap NJ

New member
This is a result of personal test of rings over the coil.I found the numbers that are represented matched the find on the beach for the three rings I found with the 3030. Most of the other rings were with other Minelab detectors over a very long period.I wished I could have fit more on the poster.
The top line is weight in grams.Line two is the karat.Line three is the basic coin program TID. Line four is Combined mode Normal,Deep On, Ground Coin TDI.
Couple of notes the toe ring was very hard to get a signal was 1/2 inches away. One bad Ti/14k is a titanium band with gold band through it.
Hope this helps out.

Thanks for that. No wonder I don't find much gold, I don't dig such low CO numbers. I have a spot to do so though, so thx for taking the time.

That is very helpful with ID'ing out in the field. So it really comes back to digging almost everything especialy anything in the low to mid 12's.

Thanks for the additional information on jewelry TID's. Do you mind if I put a link to this over on the CTX 3030 Classroom? Thanks. HH Randy

That is a great chart and will really come in handy for us new guys learning the CTX. Now if I can just figure out how to print it out. I don't have any problem enlarging it to view, but printing is not as easy.
Thanks

Dadzjunk....To print the picture, left click on it to enlarge it, then right click and you can: Save As or Print Picture. If printed, once it was enlarged, it covers about a half a sheet of 8-1/2 x 11 paper............

Thanks C&RHunter, that printed out great. I learn something new everyday on this forum, the help here is outstanding.

Hey guys sorry for the poor numbers I was on my way to hunt. On the top line the two without a second number was the same as the first. I ment to go back and write the ones that were the same but forgot too! Tomorrow I will do some silver rings.
These are some of the rings not rejected by my wife, the ones in the boxes must be liked a little better? LOL!

Thanks Buried for taking the time to do all of that. I have been digging more low CO recently just for the heck of it in case it is gold but two things that surprised me was the class ring coming in so high at 46 or 47. I will have to try mine when I get home. I put your numbers into an excel spreadsheet just to get a better idea of what was going on ....

I do see some recurring numbers 12,1, 12.04, 12.01, 12.17, 12.11, 12.08, and 12.05

If anyone wants the original Excel sheet let me know...

Very nice indeed I like it!

Just like a few other responses above me, at the beach I always looked at the 12-01 to 12-04 as being foil or ketchup type packets. You reinforce your have to dig it. Thanks for taking the time to post the information.

I was looking through the rings this week for more testing and found that the school ring was solilid silver plated ring grabed by mistake. Someone ask about that ring's TID when posted, give that guy a cherry he was right. 12-46 should always be silver. My mistake forgive me.
Now where the hell did the gold school ring get off to?

thanks for the info and time to put on here...... this kind of info is a great help for sure....... :super: HH goodluck..

Good post! I did this a year ago with probably 100 or so rings . They do come in all over place, but a majority in the 12-13 range. Hence, that is where I usually dig. I know ive passed some over, but have a hard time digging all that trash. If it were sand , no biggie. Dirts another story for me ... Call me lazy I guess. I wish the ZcTX responded with tone signature like the excal does. Really does work. Ive even used the Excal in dirt as a final sweep for just this reason.... Am I crazy?!???

I think the 2 10k class rings tell a huge story... Other than the obvious size difference, I would have never guessed they be on both extreme sides of the scale. My buddy found a small girls class ring of 10k ovrr the wekend and it came in at 12-27... Go figure! Maybe someday they will figure out how to display just the gold content of the screen,
