2500 compared to 1350
John You stated that the 1350 has a fixed ground balance. In the past I think you answered a question for me telling me the Garrett GTA-x 1250 is the same as a GTP 1350 minus the profiling, and that the 1250 has Ground tracking. Was the 1350 made without the ground tracking?
Thanks in advance
Jason
May have been anaswered, but the 1350 has Auto Ground Tracking JASONSPAZ1.
I was stuck between the 1350 and 2500, tried both. I like the 1350's weight and simplicity. I like the 2500's all metal mode and imaging. I ended up with the 2500 but probably would have been satisfied with the 1350.
Rob, you made the right choice, as the 2500 is TOP LINE and you would have been thinking if you got the 1350, why didnt I get the 2500.

Jason I must apologize to you and I probably meant that it is not user adjustable but yes the 1350 has auto ground tracking. It is a nice instrument. Ok best to you Jason.

I'm glad I got the 2500 because of the ALL METAL due to the fact I can switch from DISC. to ALL METAL to determine if I am being faked by other objects; ie. pipes, rebar or whatever. Just another tool.

I bought my 2500 in September 2007 and asked Mary about that before she left. She told me my detector was completely up to date and there were no upgrades available. My serial number is 3709XXXX. She was also really helpful in fixing two small issues I had with my detector. All free by the way.

I have used both the 250 and 2500 and the difference is pretty major. In all metal mode the 2500 detects extremely deep and still gives target ID. The deeper the object the less accurrate I find it but it is still usually close. For example. Last week I had a target in a muddy field that indicated half dollar at 8 inches in All Metal with the stock coil. Actual target was 1942 quarter at 10 inches. It was very rewarding digging an old coin at that depth. With the 12.5 inch coil depth is even better. I usually don't like to recover at that depth!

The imaging feature of the 2500 (other higher end Garrett detectors have it too but I haven't used any) is extremely useful in telling you what you are about to dig up or leave in the ground.

If I was selling Garretts I could easily sell both 250s and 2500s.
