We won't hate ya brother.We're all metal detectorists, whichever brand of detector ya swing. I used the Explorer for a few years. Found alot o'silver with it(which it excells at). I've still got it in storage. Haven't swung it in years. I might break it out and swing it around one o'these days. I know that rechargeable battery pack probably won't work after not being charged in so long. I've got one o'those alkaline packs, too.

The Ace makes a great back up detector and is the best detector for tot lots. Your [size=large]mind[/size] might get tired with a Minelab! The Ace is an easy and fun detector. Also makes a great loaner.

I think I'd hold on to the Ace unless you really need the money. I got mine as a back-up to my x-terra70. I honestly think it's alot of fun to use and find i'm using it almost as much as x-70.

Yea. Hold on to it. I thought about selling mine as well to put toward the Garrett
CX Master Hunter Treasure Hound, but the Ace is too good a machine to unload. And besides there will always be someone
who would like to try their hand at MDing to see what its about. You have any kids or grand kids? Take
them out for a day of fun.

Yeah.... I know. I got an offer on it today locally for 175$. And I thought to myself, "ahhh man. I dunno if I can sell it". It really is a great machine. So cheap. And so simple to use. I do love it. But I really want to get a pistol probe with the money. Besides. I figure I can always get another one later on down the road. They are so inexpensive. If I had more money to my name. I would keep it. But, I really want that probe. And I always said, I would spend money on stuff. And resell to upgrade.
But I hear what you all are saying. And honestly, I feel kinda bad. Its been a real good machine to me. I took excellent care of it. And I would love to share it with someone in the family. Or a friend. But nobody is really interested in the hobby besides my Girlfriend. Everyone thinks we are nerds for it. In fact, we are printing up shirts that say "I DIG HISTORY" with some detector icons on it. To make a statement. Its not about looking for spare change. Its about the rush you get when you find something old, that has literally been in the hands of history itself. So we are in it for the history. Anyway...

I know what you mean about the money situation; it's bad all over for most of us. I'm still trying to get enough together
for the CX Master Hunter and the Depth Multiplier, or if not that one, the Whites multiplier. They both do the same
job and cost about the same.

Well guys. I sold it. I sold it to a woman who was buying it for her son as a birthday gift. I was told he was really wanting to get into metal detecting. And well, what better machine is there for that really? So I feel good I passed it on. I know he will be excited with that machine. They live on some old property too I might add. 1910. So, hes gonna find some real goodies out there. Well. Now I can get my pistol probe. But you can be sure once I have extra money I will buy another ACE 250.
