2016 will be a big year for Tesoro......

either they will make it pull through and hang on or they will be bought out by someone else. There is only so much time left...yes they made good products but we are no longer in the 80's. Technology moves on ...sure your 1980 Sylvania color TV works but are you still watching it? I bet you aren't......get my drift? They have to improve/ update and move on....but I wonder if another new product is even possible at this stage. So sad I used to love my early Toltec 100......also liked my Troy units too. Where is Troy now? Hope Tesoro isn't going down Troy Avenue.

Maybe they will step up and make some Multi Freq. Detectors, Water proof, would be good, and some up dated PI detectors. Grubstake

I'm happy with what they make now. If they start making the same stuff everybody else makes, then who would care? They have loyal fans because they make something different that flat out works. My humble little Bandido II still blows most any modern machine out of the water on the nail board test. If people really wanted a Tesoro digital ID machine, then why aren't the DeLeon and Cortes flying off the shelves?

think most people want to see something "new" from Tesoro just to know they are still RND ing or is the place dying inside they bought out the outlaw which is not a new machine and was good for those who wanted a classic in new form.

made a new shaped coil and changed a colour scheme in 12 years sense Jack retired.

what does it all mean?

Tesoro has turned in to that spooky house on the hill that everyone talks about but are too scared to go inside , and lets face after going inside it loses all its pizazz and mystery, so we hear nothing from Tesoro and its smart marketing to some degree as the mystery of the house on the hill plot thickens people want to take a peak in the window and buy a Tesoro.

so really knobs and switches can only do so much and like most music bands its hard to change their sound some do better than others but they are still the same band.

so what's in store for Tesoro in the future , I don't know ! but if your game take a quick run up the steps and take a peak in the frosty dusty spidey web covered window and let us all know.\

if your searching for a new Beep and Dig machine. You'll get the same satisfaction you get from a Tesoro. Stop hoping and waiting, nothing Tesoro puts out at this point in time will impress anyone.
Too many detectors out there now that you can choose from. Face it Tesoro is already in the nursing home. Not worth getting all worked up over Tesoro, speculating on the business, worrying about their next machine-will it be any good.......................................

If your not happy with your current Tesoro model, buy a different model, try them all, might kill some time (years) until the new digital Compadre comes out. Made in China.
Maybe when this forum ends up like the Scorpion forum, Tesoro might get out of the wheelchair.

Seriously if your unhappy waiting for the next Tesoro beep and dig, visit the first mentioned forum above. Some new stuff is coming out. And one of our favorite sponsors carries them.

 yeah I am not worried about Tesoro was bored so I wrote a little story :sleepy:

I have no plans on adding to my Tesoro collection have all I need and they do find stuff and maybe one day selling them will be a not losing cash proposition , so I just use them they are not worth much anyway not like that minelab thing.

I agree with amberjack and Sven. My next machine won't be a tesoro. I will more than likely get the XP deus in 2017, no matter if tesoro's new one comes out or not. Yeah, i'm pleased with the vaquero but, bored with the company itself. They just do not have a heartbeat left in them. When this supposed new machine ever does come out and it turns out to be a sales dud like the outlaw has been. It could very well be the end for them. Seems they have put all their eggs in one basket now over this cazador thing. Surely they will have those die hard fans who will rush out and buy one, claim it's the best thing ever. Just don't see how they could cope with another outlaw like disappointment. Not knocking the outlaw by the way, I'm sure it is a good machine. Think they should start making their machines more appealing themselves. Instead of relying on others to do it for them.

I like the simplicity and capabilities of the Tesoro. I have had some fancy detectors and have had good luck but keep going back to my Tejon. I just want to hunt and have fun, don't need to keep studying to use a detector. Just me, to each there own. I'll buy another current detector by Tesoro.:tesoro:

Tesoro has its following with simplicity and fair priced units and see no problems unless the sons decide to pull the plug........

I have had a Tesoro Detector for over 10 years and never had a problem with it. I love that detector. I think if it ever broke, I would consider another Tesoro. It would be a shame if they went out of business.

Are the boys working together again? I was told one of them packed it in and left. If he has returned that might be a good thing. Anyone know what the status on the brothers is?

He may have different interests, goals or ambitions to achieve in life:shrug: My main reason for using Tesoro's are they hunt dense trashy areas well when equipped with the right size and type of coil with a fast recovery. I learned (taught myself) how to metal detect with a "beep and dig" Tesoro and still today hunt the same way by audio alone cause that's all I know and feel comfortable with. Ha!

Well, I still have lots of NEW Tesoros to try out as I only own two and the second one I just bought and it's still too cold to try her out (the Outlaw). I like the nobs and switches, I like the analog tone and style. This is Tesoro's niche. As far as the Deep Tech stuff, pretty sure they only disc out iron... If that's true how does that even come close to what Tesoro has on the market right now?

I think it is a true statement that VLF technology has reached its climax. The digital/computerized stuff just interprets the analog info for you. So called new machines are just new programs, repackaged technology.

Tesoro could do the same, they have some cool features in their Arsenal of past units... Like adjustable tone break for example. Put that on the Outlaw or Vaquero and watch out! When I bought my Outlaw just last week (from Tesoro) I was told they ARE working on NOT JUST ONE BUT a few new units! So be patient, stuff is coming... And I think a Tesoro is worth waiting for. Just MHO.

Tesoro should at least offer the numeric display/PP feature that the Fors Core has.

because imo they messed up when they made it . When I was looking at them I wanted to buy until I found out u have to hold a spring loaded switch to get the tone I'd function. And gb not transferring into disc . Total crap imo. I was hoping the Cazador would have fixed this but honestly I lost patience waiting with little communication from them , so went a bought another companies machine. I honestly hope tesoro pulls thru but somehow I doubt it, they don't communicate peroid , not on fb, twitter,Instagram heck not even on this forum . Other manufacturers do np I've seen their guy poke there head in and join in the convo, but not tesoro.

Not only do they disc out iron, small foil can be disc'd just like Tesoros set on foil.
All they need to do is come up with a detector higher disc setting.............................

yes the one thing that didn't work for me was the low disc, and sure I might not use it much but good to have it if needed so a minus for this detector for me and add in a all metal mode and I am sure it would raise sales no end in the US and make it useful in many applications seems to work great in iron.
