2011 might turn out OK! (My find of the year.)

Great finds Chris. Yeah I'm suprprised at the VDI on that ring as well. I would have expected in the 50's somewhere. Good heads up that 70-71 range is where most of my pennies usually hit. WTG.

Nice!:thumbup:Congrats on the gold!:beers:
Yeah, seeing John's ring find rate convinced me to dig all those penny signals.
I used to always notch out those penny's, especially at the beach. Not now. I dig 'em all.:garrett::detecting:
Happy Hunting!:)

Well I tell ya Chris when I saw it under water I screamed like a girl with excitedment, haha, oh yeh...gold fever hit me hard on that one...grabbed it and took it to my dredge and put it in a container and went back to find more. It should get at least 2x spot, maybe more.

Nice gold ring Cwilk!!! I found a small gold ring about a month ago but didn't bother to post it.

Nice to know that you settled with the insurance company... I hear they can be a pain!

Kyle

That is one of, if not "the" nicest rings I have ever seen!

Really well done!

It goes to show, it pays to dig no matter what the machine says!

I've gone over it pretty good although I haven't properly cleaned it yet. The stones all have small chips. I think it was worn a lot by whoever owned it as the 18K hallmark is also very worn. I've scrapped a lot of my rings, never the good ones, though, and I dug out what I have left. None are even near as nice as this one. I think it's number three on my best finds of all time list. After US gold coin and 1793 silver coin. The best part about finding it was I was expecting another boring old clad hunt which is about all I'm having this year. Thanks for the nice words!

Chris

Thanks Kyle. Oh my. Everytime I find gold, which isn't often, I can't wait to post. Glad you did find some, though.

Insurance is a big rip off. You pay and pay and when you really need it it is a major pain to collect what is deserved. It all worked out in the end so I am grateful.

Thanks for looking!

Chris
