Happy New Year folks,

What an exciting year for relic hunting. As many of you all may know, I enjoy any time out with a detector, weather it be in the woodchips underneath playground equipment, local parks, ski hills, race tracks, private yards, competition hunting, gold nugget hunting or actually detecting at old sites recovering those historic relics. My focus this year was to actually get out and do some detecting leaving work as a secondary goal as my 18 months previous was in Uncle Sam

Hi John,

I really don't know what to say, congratulations on some wonderful finds, just doesn't seem to cut it.
You have had a great year and it must be great to be able to search the old battlefields, unfortunately or fortunately here in Oz we haven't had any wars (peaceful lot we are) however we still manage to pick up a few interesting bit's and pieces mostly from the old mining sites etc.

All the best and happy new year.......Boony

That's one heck of a journey through all those wars, congrats. on many great finds, only one of which some of us yankees would be pround to own. My hat goes off to you and the men and women fiting in Iraq and Afganistan and may God bless this great country of ours. Ron

I've never read a better post from a treasure hunter, that was great.
Here's hoping that you have many more successful outings in the future and THANKS for your service in Iraq.
I have a son in the Marines finishing his 2nd tour right now, hopefully he'll return safe and sound so we can take that UK trip in search for some oldies after he's stateside and had some rest.
Thanks again for your post.

Mike

Q - how do you go about getting invited on a trip like that - hint hint?
