1st 1916 Mercury Silver Dime! My heart stopped!

Here's a Polaroid of my first 1916 mercury silver dime. I was filming with my Go Pro Hero 3 silver, when I ran across this beauty. OK, I'll admit, it's not so beautiful. But I had you going. I did want you to go through the experience I had, when I saw that date pop out of the hole, and then see the reverse I saw. Yep chalk it up to another exciting day in the hunted out park. I keep going deeper and deeper with my V3i and the magic pro program. Had 7 Wheat backs from the teens and twenties and a great horseman button. I will post a link to the 1916 mercury dime you tube movie clip this afternoon. It will take a while to upload it. Go get you some!

Nice!

Great find! Nothing like seeing a 1916 Merc in the hole to make the old ticker race!!

Howdy msareborn--

It sure does get the heart beating a little faster seeing that 1916 merc! I've dug a few 1916's with mint marks but they have all turned out to be S mint marks. One of these days...

By the way, that's a beautiful Eagle Button, made between 1859 and 1863. Great finds! Go get you some MORE! Best of luck and...

Happy Hunting!
Blind Squirrel

Oops! I know a 65 quarter isn't silver, don't know what I was thinking. Yes Blind squirrel, the button was a looker. I love to find the old military buttons in the hunted out park, there was a lot of military activity on that ground. Always a welcomed find.

Very nice finds! Keep up the good work!!

You guys are killing. For a while ground was so hard I had to use a Miners Pick. Now everything is a swamp with no hope in sight.

Where are you from Daddyflea? We had a great spring. Lots of deep coins, gras was about as low as it goes and plugs were soft and easy to dig. Summer is upon us and the ground is getting harder here in the Idaho panhandle. The hunted out park groundskeeper supervisor just declared probe only. I'm gonna give it a rest for a while. I'll go somewhere else. Usually thats good, because it forces me to find new ground. Go get you some!
