I found the exact same year half dime/5 cent piece earlier this summer so I know exactly how you must have felt to find yours. When I found mine I only knew it was a half dime until I got it home, I resisted all urges to take any dirt off and wished for a capped or draped bust the whole time I was driving home (also resisting all urges to exceed the speed limit too much..LOL)......when I carefully let the water wash the dirt off at home I was oh so suprised to see that not only was it a '34 capped bust but it was in extremely good condition. It's my avatar now, nicest coin I've ever found. Congratulations on finding yours, I hope it doesn't take as long for to find something equally as exciting as it has for me....lol. HH.
Congrats. That's a real nice coin. I found a 1834 Bust Dime and 1847 Seated Half Dime on the same day, so I know how excited you were. I was so excited, I could not decide whether to keep on looking or go home and clean them off. I stayed.
