1793 large Cent just found

Thanks Scott, I trust your opinion above all others.

Gatekeeper, there are several varieties of chain cent and wreath cent including the Strawberry Leaf as well as 6 different varieties of 1793 Liberty Cap cents. From everything I can see on this coin, it is a Sheldon 13. This is the most common of the 1793 Liberty Caps, but still a very rare coin in any condition.

GK Man, wonderful find, congratulations. Please keep the forum up to date with what your plans are, its always a great story.

Well done !

Never use NCS for any copper coin !! That's NGC and ANACS use.. They will trash it !! I would soak in distilled or RO water, change once a week, soft brush and toothpick to clean until you like it... I would NEVER use olive oil...

Great find and the condition is great.

all I've ever heard is to use olive oil on coppers so how does distilled or RO water do well on coppers? or what does olive oil adversely affect coppers?
thanks

It is amazing to think that something I dug out of a corn field could be worth so much.

Congratulations again Gary and good luck.

I bet that goes for $13,000 plus.......... :clapping:

That's awesome! Let us know what it ends selling for.
