lowered the sensitivity down was goin to deep with the exploder and still pulled the reale at a foot deep with my buds watchin . we measured the depth at a foot with the ruler .the dfx could'nt see this one through the dry soil.i guess i love gettin the coins and do'nt care what machine make it is as long as I get results!. so far been out with the exploder 3 times and got 3 large cents a spanish reale and some great buttons and some mercs and some clad and musket balls etc..I guess if it does the trick I'll use it. next time goin back with the dfx to try again for some hits , so far the dfx cranked up with no discrimation did'nt go as deep.. maybe when they come out with some new coils, but on the other hand there is the wot coil which i've seen go down real deep! better have a good shovel..HH Carl

Nice one Carl, I have gotten 6 reales with the explorer so far, 4 of them this year.. by the way the regular posts of explorer finds and stuff is in the FBS forum here, this is more or less the classroom

DFX is this the same DEFEX machine that has still not arrived in the UK >.

i called you to task on 2 items.
1.the prototype dfx you claim white's made for him
which you know isn't true.
2.the hunt with davez which you lost but after he left you hit a motherload.
 
big deal dave swooped the whole park where he got a lucky hit a 4 inches i na area that wasnt hunted yet, he did'nt go over the spots I went over to pull a deep one that I would have missed ,thats what the meeting was about , .by the way dave was digging little pieces of metal on surface that were showing up in the dfx at 4 inches and was digging looking for them, no machine is perfect!if and I pinpointed them on the surface for him..air test was dfx 13 explorer 17 ,and could be proven..again easily in front of people.by the way bob hitting those few targets is the mother load! one worn silver!.I'm not even gonna respond any more to these rediculous posts. that are all derived from me being a new dealer in the area.WE ARE ALL IN THIS FOR FUN!... , BOB( YOU) ARE RUINING THIS BY YOUR GREED AND MATERIAL GAIN FROM ALL THE MISINFO YOU ARE TRYING TO SELL.

Don't want to incite any grudge matches here, but for those looking for the "truly" most effective detector. Let me tell you my experience a few months back; i was detecting in Carmel beach California with my White's XLT (Till that day I was a very faithfull White's user). Another fellow was there with a Minelab machine (I had never seen one before, thought White's was only one worth paying any attention to). After 3 hours of hunting, we crossed paths and showed eachother our finds.... I proudly displayed about 4 ounces of assorted aluminium items to the fellow, he paused, and surely embarrased for me, proceeded to show me a great big handfull of jewelery!!! That day I decided I will sell my White's machines and purchase some Minelab's (think he was using an explorer)
Not meaning to be rude to a manufacturer that produces a great detector (that actually got me interested in the hobby), just calling it as I seen it!!
