167 coin day, 6 wheaties and passed 10,000 coins for year

CONGRATS!!!!! That is one big bunch of coins!!!!!!!:surprised:

Now you can slow down and go out and try for some nice clean silver......instead of those dirty clad coins ;)

Like the old TV show Get Smart.... "I missed it by THAT much" I guessed oct 27 and you got it oct 29..

Wow if my son did not have that football tournament this weekend...no...I have not been hunting on weekends anyways... thanks...

A couple people wanted a close up of wheaties and to see the coins labeled...not sure who asked where but posted on each forum I visit...here are the pics requested...

You must be very excited having your long sought accomplishment being recognized by Whites Detectors.
You have really accomplished a hard goal and I am very happy you will get the just recognition you deserve.
My hats off to you Greg.. a swell job and I will be looking for your story from Whites..Congratulations Sir !!

VERY VERY impressive Gregg. I've been keeping up with your totals, but haven't wrote on the forum for some time. Larry was so excited when the news got out of the bag. Or should I say "out of the ground"!!!! You have made the world of detectors very proud and gave us all encouragement. Do you have the $$$ ear-marked for something special for yourself? Give it a thought and enjoy the "extra" benefits of a wonderful hobby. Thanks for all your hard work and all those long tallies and photos. We have all appreciated the suspense and the persistence that you gave us. BIG CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU GREGG!!!!!!! :clapping:

Gregg, I used to hear stories all the time from old timers about their 10-15,000 coin totals for the year. Coming home with a pocket full of old copper and silver coins back in the 70s/80s. Your total for the year is mighty impressive and goes to show that if you put in the time and effort its still realistic. Nice job

Thanks I know you and Larry have hauled in a lot of coins in your time.... I am still going out just not as much....decided not to post every single pic now that my goal has been reached...got out today usual clad and a 42 wheatie...also thanks for the encouragement from you and Larry all year, it sure helped get to my goal.:detecting:

thanks for the reply....that was it...no more counting! I will add them up just so I know...but I am cutting hunts down now for year... I would like to hit a few more wheaties and a couple more silver coins. I am very close to 100 wheaties for the year...did pick one up yesterday... I actually found myself ignoring some of the memorial cent signals to cut back on the digging....felt very strange skipping coins!

I would have to do what I did today 5 times a month to match your pass. Just can't imagine that, I would be dead!

3-4 times a week...3-4 hours a day... 4 days a week since July...Every month except February...record cold... And yes it has been asked several times...

Wow, that's just hard to imagine. My heartiest congratulations to you, Gregg!!

My own personal goal was 4,000 for the year, and it took a bit of work to get there. I obesessed about it for the last several hunts, only hitting fairgrounds, playgrounds, schools and the like that I knew would give up the numbers instead of going for the oldies and goodies at other places. I had quite a few 100+ days and did manage to find some trinkets along with the coins, but I just don't think I have it in me to go for more than that in one year. Once I hit my goal I started returning to the places that give up the older silver coins, and I find it much more enjoyable to go back to not worrying about the numbers again.

Once again that's an impressive feat, WAY TO GO!!!

Steve

Thanks obsession is a good word in this case...and you are right it did take some of the fun out of it knowing I had to dig a certain amount each hunt. I to went to places that I knew would deliver the clad. I am now trying to hit a few older parks...maybe another spot or two I have in mind... But I am getting extremely frustrated reading the depth explorer users are getting....would like to start seeing some deeper hits...
