12x10 SEF for the Sovereign Discontinued!?

When you guys get your 12x10 (or even the 15x12) here's a tip for you...These coils have excellent seperation. The detection line from tip to tail is VERY sharp on these coils, and of course the 12x10's feels even sharper. However, if you run acrossed multiple targets close together you can sharper the detection field even further by wiggling the front of back lengths of these coils at the targets. It almost feels like you are using a scapel when you do that. Like I said, even the center of these coils is sharper than anything I've ever seen but it gets even sharper out towards the ends (say the last 3 or 4" of the coil's front or back end).

critter, like always you realy know your stuff, on cuple posts back you mentioned this stragety and last week I got my 15X12 and tray that wegle move and it is so acurate that ti pin-point is to the T, and yes I was able to see the diferences when there was more than one target.
thank you for all your Imput in this and a all of things that you help us out!
I will be asking you more when i get my 12X10.
Thank you!!
Abel.

More than welcome. I'm just a big advocate of these SEF coils. I think they really help to bring the Sovereign into the 21st century in terms of performance.

I see Detech has a new 13" coil that KellyCo just now started carrying. From the field test in the Explorer forum it looks like a winner. This is not the "other" 13" coil that they aren't allowed to name. It would be nice if Detech would make that coil for the Sovereign. Anybody heard anything on that? I guess it isn't all that heavy either, or at least I think I read that. It looks like the Pro Coil only larger and white in color. I wish Detech would make the 8x6 SEF for the Sovereign. Can't imagine how sharp it's left/right detection field must be because I know the 12x10 is razor sharp in that respect. I'm going to have to do a little investigating of Detech over seas because they might very well make the 13" coil, or are going to, for the Sovereign but Kellyco might not be going to carry it. I know they made a small egg shaped coil for the Sovereign for a while that was only sold over there.

I wish for a 6x8 SEF for my Sovereign GT also. I did go ahead and ordered the new Detech 13" Ultimate for my DFX. HH. Matt

I don't know how you can split your attention between those machines, let alone afford to be buying coils for all of them. If I had the money (and a job) I'd probably buy an AT Pro as my water machine (since it's fresh water) when not waiding with the GT, and to use on land when I'm in the mood for a fast machine to say clad hunt and such. A friend of mine has an Excal and an older Whites water unit. Needless to say the Whites never gets used. I keep telling him to sell the Whites off and for a few hundred dollars more he could buy an AT Pro for a backup water hunting and also for land hunting when he's in the mood for something different than his Etrac. Can't believe how cheap those AT Pros are.

One would think that if they make that 13" coil for the DFX/V3 then they'd make it for the Sovereign. I would think (maybe I'm wrong?) that there has to be more Sovereigns floating around out there then those machines, seeing as how long the Sovereign has been in production.

That's why I can't understand why they don't make the SEF coils for the low frequency Whites (XLT, QXT, 6000 Pro XL, etc). There are probably more of those machines on the market that use the same compatible coils than any other detector out there. It would be a good way to increase the depth of those old favorites. The only larger coil for them is the 12" Hot Shot concentric. I had two of those coils and they became unstable on my QXT. Maybe they can't make the SEF coils for the older Whites because there is something about DD coils that doesn't allow them to work well with them? Not sure, but if it did I'd think they'd make them for them because there would probably be a lot of sales. One of the reasons why I left the QXT Pro was a lack of larger coils than the 9.5" in order to get deeper.

Critter, I will be one of those customer getting a SEF for my analog machine, I just love the way they work on my GT.
Again Thank's to you the EXPERT!

Thanks for the update. Anxious to hear how all you guys (think there is at least 3 or 4 who mentioned in this thread that they are waiting for one) like this coil. I really love it myself. Best DD coil I've ever used.
