Love my 10x12 DD on my Vaquero...wouldn't be without it in the arsenal.
The weight doesn't bother me, it seems very well balanced for its size and easy to keep flat on the ground.
Deeper than both my standard and the 5.75 concentric in my soil, but even though most of my targets rarely show up much deeper than 6" it is nice to know I can get way deeper than that on targets and I have.
It covers a large area quickly and efficiently and won't give you those "what if" feelings that you are missing targets.
Moving way too fast in a large area swinging that coil way to fast too it found me a 14k wedding ring that paid for the coil and then some.
I am positive I would have missed this thing if it wasn't for the speed of the Vaquero and the length of the scanning field.
It found me an 1864 2 cent coin at about 5" in an area at a special site our md club was hunting, and at least a half dozen members hunted around the same area and missed it.
As far as trash, it does very well but I do not like using it in areas of heavy pop top infestation...that is why I have other coils.
The right tool for the right job is always the best way to go.
Never used the 5X10, probably a great coil but I don't miss what I never had so I am glad I have this coil to use when needed.
