Yes Happy Hour you are correct, the F70 does not do it all and it certainly does not come close to the CZ's for depth in my experience. In fact it nudges out the 1235X by only an inch or so on quarters but can best it on dimes and other coins handily.
It does have something the 1236X2 and 1235X and 1270 have, a wider iron range which is a great asset in relic hunting. The CZ's on the other hand have an iron category that is either on or off depending user application.
But it won me over on it's ability to pick silver as well as other coins out of otherwise masked scenarios where the dig it all mode is not preferred. So it certainly will have a long life in my toolbox.
And when I get that piece of silver out of the ground, and it does not bear the image on idol, but rather an idea, as in the case of Liberty in all her forms, that does make my day as well as any relic I'd ever find. The romance of relic hunting is no greater to me than the idea of a country that once put ideals on it's money, rather than idols.
Unless of course I dug a bowie knife that had Davy Crockett's signature on it, of course!
