1270 coil air testing

Ron did you ask about the update for the 1270, I guess yours isn't under warranty anymore but these are product fixes. The repairs will be worth it, AWESOME Detector. Call Felix and check the product fixes.

From Fisher Website:

1270 - A customer indicated that the case sometimes breaks off at the grip and that water can get in and the circuits corrode. These were determined to be clear design weaknesses. We continue to work on all products and make improvements when ever possible!

We have made changes to improve:

1) Added a machined steel support to reinforce the bottom of the case so that it will not break.
2) Weather-proofed by adding silicon around the junction between the face plate and the case halves.
3) Sealed the speaker (it's mounted on top and points up) with a clear plastic seal.

All is well with my 1270, got it back today and took it out in the yard, it seems to be working fine. She seemed to be as hot as ever. Can't complain about the Fisher service they got it in, contacted me about the cost, fixed and sent it back all in 2 and half weeks.

What did they tell you was wrong with it? And did they do the update stuff?

Shooter couldn't tell much by the paper work, it said there were 3 items shorted on board, it didn't say if the board was replaced or they just replaced the 3 items. It did say updates and new batteries and was inspected.

Glad to hear you got the updates.

Took the 1270 out for a test drive in the local park, no finds to brag about. But the detector responded to targets and the detector responded well to all control changes. I think I am in pretty good shape.
