10X14 DD vs 10X12 SEF

I have a Vision V3. My question is > I have a Excelerator 10X14 DD coil. What would I gain by using the new Excelerator 10X12 SEF coil? I don't know what the advantage is between these coils.

I have a 10x12 sef and have used it on the v , It works fine but you cannot use boost and the max gain is about 12 till it overloads, it is not V tuned

Hang,I have the 10X14 but was wondering what kind of depth advantage if any have you noted with the SEF? Or does the D2 do just as well maxed out? Thanks H.H. Yazoo

I should have stated that I have the 10X14 DD coil. I don't have the 10X12 SEF coil I didn't know if it would be worth while to buy one or not.

I have used the 10X12 SEF quite a bit and I get better coverage, but in my ground, there is little or no depth advantage compared to the D2. The SEF has slightly better ground rejection than the D2 so it runs a little quieter.

Thanks Larry was looking for that info.SEF coil then would have no real advantage per owning the other 2 coils. Yazoo

I wouldn't buy the 10X12 for just the two extra inches of coverage, but if someone already had one, it is not a bad loop. Mine is out on loan right now, but when I get it back, I'll be happy to let you try it Yazoo. JW said something to the effect the other day that the SEF line might be V nulled someday. If so, it would be worth a second look. Again, my ground conditions may vary from yours, and I know you get a lot better results with a conical loop than I do.

I have a 10X12 SEF that the boost works great on. It a deep coil in my moderate soil. Now if my other non V rated coils would work with boost.....
