What a great time!!! Between 20-25 people got together just outside Chicago and had a blast!!! Most of us are from IL but we had people come from Indiana and even had a few people drive up from Missouri. It wasn't a club hunt, just a bunch of MD'rs getting together for a great time before the winter snows shuts us down. Glad so many people made it on out!!! If you didn't, you missed out on awesome food and awesome prizes!!!! Everybody had a blast, and we even got a new metal detectorist, congrats Joe on winning the Garrett Ace 250 that Ron Shore form http://www.windycitydetectors.com/ donated!!!! Joe and his father showed up to try their hand at metal detecting / they never did it before so we loaned them 2 detectors to use.
We also had a chance to bounce ideas, techniques off eachother, people also tried using other machines and a chance to just shoot the breeze and drink cold beers... ;D
My finds were an old cufflink (what was somebody wearing cufflinks out in the woods for?), an old Girl Scout knife (GS on the emblem), and of course a Boy Scout neckerchief.
My prize is the 1955 Half Crown.
Here is the video I shot, mostly of the raffle. enjoy
The first video is when the total newbe wins the Ace 250 - check it out, we were telling him to take the detector but he was hesitant about taking the biggest prize. LOL

We had everything from a Garrett Ace 250, Minelab diggers, headphones, Bullseye 2 pinpointer, 5 mega pixel digital camera, silver coins, commemorative coins, other types of digging tools, pouches, books, a flashlite, 10lbs of BBQ pulled pork on demand "Bomber coupon", ponchos, first aide kits, you name it we prolly had it there (Windy City Detectors donated a lot of great stuff, thanks Ron as did everybody else). More prizes were added after I took these pix.
