🎩🎩🎩 WHATS THE 3️⃣ BIGGEST TIPS YOU WOULD GIVE to a newbie? 🎩🎩🎩

Dont shy away from others saying “its all hunted out”. Get permission first on all private property. Have fun and dont over hunt your physical abilities.

Especially when someone states, “ it’s all hunted out. Me and my buddies cleaned this place out a long time ago”
That statement was to me around 33 years ago concerning a 90 acre park. If I had listened to the elderly man, I would of missed out on IH’s, seated dimes and quarter, half and quarter dollars, several 1700’s coins, half dime and 210-230 Mercury, rosey and barber dimes, and well over a 1000 wheaties.
Yep he might of “done well” with his top-of-the-line 1960’s BFO detector, however technology has certainly come along way.
Moments before this gentleman stopped to tell me this, I had just pocketed a beautiful 1914 Barber Dime 🤭 No, I didn’t have the heart to tell him 😂

Thank you!

I agree with every one of the previous responders. I think that one of the best ways to learn the language of your detector is at school yard sandboxes. There, accept targets just above iron and up to silver dollar range, dig all targets. It's easy to dig in sand and a fast kick with your foot to fill the hole. Incidentlay, I've found more gold and silver rings at sandboxes than at any other place. The main objective, though is to learn your machine. I think that one of the most important things to master is pinpointing and recovering the target. It's tragic when a rare coin or relic is nicked or scratched due to careless pinpointing/recovery. Pinpointing in detecting is like putting in golf. Another tip, if you are planning to hunt older sites in persuite of old coins is to purchase The Red Book of U.S. coins by R. S. Yeoman. A familiarity with the years of mintage of various coins gives insight as to what types of coins can be found at a given site. Have fun in your adventures and best of luck and...
Happy Hunting!

Take your time and make sure your coil is flat throughout your swing make your plug with a hinge!
I have a park that was hunted hard over the years no one detects there anymore my first year back detecting I found my first gold coin there!
And my first CC seated quarter! and many other silver coins! no place is hunted out!
And always hunt the surrounding woods if you can schools and parks.

I'm guessing this park was around when golden coins were occasionally used?

I would have you dig every signal until you can call every target before you dig and be correct 70% of the time.
Then you can start passing up unwanted items.
