    Vortex starting to ship

Gee, oldkoot, I am terribly sorry to hear about your wife. She and you will be in my prayers. My father just passed away two weeks ago (at 93!), after spending the past two years in a nursing home because of his dementia. Those last two years were difficult for both him and me. So yeah, I’m...

    Where's the Mighty Vortex at?

They did release the Axiom a little less than 2 years ago. Very capable machine from what I understand, but I'm not a gold field hunter. I suspect that the Vortex is more capable than most people are expecting. We'll find out one way or another soon enough. I for one have ordered one.

Need to clarify information on Garretts

The correct answer is: it depends. It depends on what your friends' hunting goals and habits are/will be. I own an Apex and like it very much. It's fairly lightweight and very capable. My only real beef with it is that it's not fully waterproof which is a problem for me on those occasions...

Here's What Was Posted On The Garrett Facebook Page Last Week "LOOKING GOOD"

Yet, in comparison, Garrett is widely regarded as having the best customer service in the industry. I did something stupid with my brand new Apex - I was hunting on the beach and dropped it in seawater. Of course, that was the end of it. So I called Garrett hoping that I could just buy...

Initial impressions and questions from a Newbie (using Ace Apex)

Thank you all very much for the warm welcome and your advice. I agree with coinrescue, earthlypotluck, and ronaldj2 that I would benefit from practicing at a less trashy site or coin garden. I have devoured all the videos I could find on the subject, but there's no substitute for experience...

Initial impressions and questions from a Newbie (using Ace Apex)

Well, after a lot of research and hemming and hawing, I finally took the plunge and bought a Garrett Apex. There were a few other models out there that intrigued me (e.g., MineLabs), but I wanted to buy American made, so it came down to the AT-Pro or the Apex, and I got the Apex because it has...
