    Re: treasureisland I ran into the same trouble with the 10" D2 coil on my vision that you had with it on your DFX. Maybe I didn't have my settings correct, but I was using the factory "coin and jewelry" program. With the 10" stock coil, it wouldn't shut up. It would sound off on every sweep...

    I have also been impressed with the Vision and the 5.3. I frequently switch between the 5.3 and the Super 12. I have not been impressed with the 10" stock coil. It has been way to noisy.

    That's how I understand the RX gain/TX boost relationship as well. I'm just not sure yet why increasing the TX would be better than increasing the RX. Maybe the detector would receive less outside interference if the RX gain was turned down. I'm looking forward to trying it out.

    Coil ? for some one from whites

    My Super12, 4x6" DD, and 5.3" coils all work well with my Vision, and none have the "V" designation. There has never been a 3x6" coil to my knowledge.

    I have a Matrix M6 and a Vision and I just sold my XLT so that I could buy the Vision. I'm not sure what you mean by running smoother than the M6 because the M6 is a very good machine in my opinion. I bought the M6 a couple of years ago, and it's been a great detector. It has great ground...
