    Ditto, on the Eneloops. (Still made/available!) They hold their charge in unused devices better than any rechargeable I've tested....and like Mark mentioned, they also hold their rated capacity longer than any other brand I've tested. :) mike PS - They also 'go bad' far, far less frequently...

    Yep. Mechanical (wind-up) style. The 'slot' is where the +/- adjustment is for fine tuning the clock accuracy. The center hole is where the time-setting adjustment knob protruded.
