How Do I Detect Tin Can Alley..?

You would need and Etrac or CTX 3030 for more exact coin target ID if you could get them to stop masking in the thick targets you described. Otherwise, that sounds like an amazing place. First you could attach a pretty strong magnet to a wooden broom, rake, pick, axe or shovel handle (with or...

    WS-4 Headphones

That is THE question. I am a gold prospector so having the HF coil is an absolute no brainer. I also coin, jewelry and relic hunt in moderate to high mineralization so again, having the HF coil is a must since frequencies below 14 kHz don't work very well here. I also travel a lot to areas that...

    G2+ upgrade from a GBP?

From experience, they have virtually the same results in my testing. I have owned a G2+, Gold Bug Pro and 2 F19s. They could all run at 99 in discrimination mode, and hit 8" coin sized targets, with the same coil. If you are looking for extreme raw depth in discrimination mode you have the...

    WS-4 Headphones

It is hard to tell but I think boost is included. I checked mine and on the lowest frequencies 3.7 to 4.4 kHz there are only two TX power adjustments on the Version 5 WS4 controller using an X 35 coil. All the rest of the frequencies have three adjustments so I am guessing that means using 3.7...

    HF 9x5 coil charging

The HF coils have a much larger capacity battery so 5 hours is not unusual. You can stop charging it anytime and check the battery level for the coil on the remote.

    HF 9x5 coil charging

The light stays on steady until charging is complete. Then it will blink off and on every 2 or three seconds. Jeff

    WS-4 Headphones

I hope you aren't planning to use the Deus WS4s with you ORX. They won't work. If the WS-4 puck has the latest 5.21 software they are really nice with the added expert settings. I have the ORX with the WS headphones and just a Deus WS4 puck/headphones for more tones and the Pitch...

MI6 not switching modes on remote

What has me overwhelmed are the 6 programs (3 with pitch and pulse) and 3 with just pulse that can be chosen using the Mi6 as a stand alone pinpointer which are different from program 7 which pairs up with the remote controller and accesses 4 more programs which are within the remote controller...

MI6 not switching modes on remote

Is your WS4 also using V5.21 software? Have you read the Version 5 manual concerning Mi6 operation with the Deus controller and independently from it? Some information in the little booklet that comes with the Mi6 is slightly different from what is in the manual. Maybe something is getting lost...

MI6 not switching modes on remote

Don't turn on the WS4s. Just try to pair it with your Deus controller. Make sure its serial number is still in the pinpointer menu in your remote controllers Option/Pinpointer/settings. You could try removing the serial number and re-pairing it. Whenever I use it with my ORX or Deus I turn on...

MI6 not switching modes on remote

Did you try the sequence of steps I suggested? Jeff

I have been away and it all has changed!!

Not without lots of surgery. Vanquish has square shafts and the Equinox has round shafts......for starters and the Vanquish coil has a very different kind of coil nut and bolt system.

MI6 not switching modes on remote

Turn your Deus on. Turn on the Mi6. Press the button again until you hear the little melody. Immediately press the button 7 times, sounds like a musical scale. The Mi6 should then be in the mode that connects it to your Deus. Go into the menu just below the pinpoint target box and you can change...

I have been away and it all has changed!!

Sales reps don't know half of what we know as detector users. Most manufacturer reps barely even know how to turn a detector on from my experience and certainly don't know the specs either. Some dealers know what they are doing. The stuff I see online from our forums is a little better. Jeff

I have been away and it all has changed!!

Hi bigtim1973. I have the Equinox 800, Equinox 600 and a Vanquish 440. I need multi frequency detectors due to where I hunt in moderate to bad mineralization. The Equinox 600 is a lot more detector than any of the Vanquish models. The 600 and 800 are made to be versatile, very adjustable, are...

    Speak English..!

As you pump the coil on the F70/Teknetics Patriot with the Ground Grab button depressed you should eventually hear the raising of the coil tone and lowering of the coil tone become the same intensity and pitch while the number on the display will stabilize too. It is probably best to not do a...

    39-40

Usually when I get a 38,39, or 40 signal that appears to be deep by the depth meter and by the weaker audio, I hit the horseshoe button and check for iron. Like Jeff said, almost always there is an accompanying very low tone iron response mixed in the the high tones. I have dug many of these...

    Battery Power Vs Detecting Power

Someday I'll buy some new printer cartridges and print the manual. I seem to remember details better if I read them on paper instead of online, but then I won't have an excuse for forgetting what I read! Jeff

    Battery Power Vs Detecting Power

from the manual page 8 in the blue box.......... The detector regulates the battery voltage so that its performance remains constant regardless of the charge remaining in the battery. Jeff
