Get Ready | XP Metal Detectors

I hope simultaneous multi-frequency is a part of this. Buying an MF coil that works with my existing Deus setup would be amazing.

ID normalization do you ever turn it off?

All this reminds me of a trick I've read about but haven't tried yet: If you turn ID norm off and create two programs at different frequencies -- say, one at 4 khz and one at 17 khz -- you can hunt in the higher frequency but use the lower one to check questionable targets, especially high...

ID normalization do you ever turn it off?

I do, mostly at the lower frequencies. Having the ID numbers spread out over a wider range is handy, especially if you're hunting coins and want to differentiate between those and certain kinds of trash. At one of my sites, for instance, there's a certain type of scrap metal spread around that...

    Elliptical coil

I'll second that. I like the HF elliptical, but I mostly hunt for coins and would love something that size with the lower frequencies. I also wouldn't mind a hockey puck-style sniper coil for the Deus. Imagine the separation on something like that when you crank the reactivity up to 3+!

    silicone cover

I have the same cover and know exactly what you're talking about. My solution: I leave it on most of the time, usually just cleaning the outside with a wipe or wet cloth after each hunt. Occasionally, I take it off to clean the cover and remote completely. When it's time to put it back on the...

    GTI 1500

I picked one up second-hand a few years back. It's definitely not state-of-the-art anymore, but if you can get a good deal on it, it's a fun one to take out. The target sizing feature is an interesting approach that you haven't really seen replicated since.

    XP deus water hunting

How durable is the transmitter cable? It looks so thin that I'd be worried about it getting caught on something and breaking.

where is the new deus multi ??

A few videos I've watched on the Nox offer the following tip: Once you find a target in with simultaneous multi-frequency, check it on a single frequency to see if it's worth digging (e.g., if you get a high tone that isn't so clean in MF, check it at 4 khz to see if it sound better). That's...

    I bought this one, BTW...

    Deus remote cover?

I second the silicone cover. I bought one after I took my new Deus out a couple times and found cleaning the mud out of the button depressions too tedious. Now, I just give it a once-over with a wet wipe after each hunt, and I don't have to worry about scratches on the screen.

XP Deus is Killer on Silver

I just bought the HF elliptical and have found it super sensitive on small objects. Before that, I had only used the 9" and 11"x13" LF coils, which easily get coins at 10"+ Congrats on the dime! What kind of site/soil did it come out of? I mostly hunt old yards/parks here in Northern VA where...

    XP product availability?

Lots of imported electronics arrive in the US by air. I wouldn't be surprised if either the surge in online shopping/higher volume of things being shipped or the lower number of flights between the US and Europe (passenger flights often also carry cargo) are limiting how quickly XP can restock...

    sharping digging tools

I use a dremel with a grinder tip to sharpen my Lesche from time to time. Definitely makes it even better in ground with a lot of roots.

    11" round v. 11"x13" coil?

Thanks for the feedback, all. Certainly would be nice to have some extra coverage so I'll take a closer look at the 13"

    11" round v. 11"x13" coil?

I bought a Deus with a 9" coil earlier this fall and have been having a blast learning it. Now, I'm starting to think about adding a larger coil for a little extra depth. Lots of people use the 11" X35 round coil, but I'm curious what the differences are between that and the 11"x13" X35. What...

    Headphone question

I don't have insight on any phones compatible with the puck, but I've been using a WS5 pair for a couple months and love them.

Nox v. Deus: Which should I buy?

Thanks all, I think I've decided on the Deus this time. I've been watching a lot of videos from XP and others and learning a lot about all the adjustments and how they can help you out at a range of different sites. The all-wireless setup and the ergonomics also won me over.

Nox v. Deus: Which should I buy?

Thanks for the feedback, all. @bigtim1973 @Kickindirt What are your go-to coils on the Deus? And which headphones do you use?

Nox v. Deus: Which should I buy?

The ergonomics of the Deus, the all-wireless setup and the range of adjustments all appeal to me. The lack of a small coil is significant — I use the 5x8 coil on my AT Max all the time and love it for trashy parks. Getting a Nox and adding a 6" coil might make more sense, though the build...

Nox v. Deus: Which should I buy?

I'm looking at upgrading from the AT Max. I need a machine that does well in old parks, yards and other urban/suburban areas (I only get out to fields occasionally). So far, my research has focused on the Equinox (probably would go for the 800) and the Deus. Anyone here used both? If you could...
