Fors CoRe finally got me some silver

That works on the F19/G2+ as well and since I mainly rely on TID on the Fisher machines, I use that trick. In DI3 on the CoRe I prefer relying on the sound than on the ID though. With the small coil I can get a good solid hit on bottle caps from only one direction. If I turn 90 degrees and...

    Fors CoRe silver foursome

Got back to my usual rusty bottle cap infested forest for a few hours and found four silver dimes. After my third silver dime, I had found more silver than copper (a first for me) but then the pennies started popping up. The last silver dime I found was the 1951 rosie (my first silver rosie). It...

F19 best disc and V-break settings

I just set the volume at 10 to knock out iron and dig pretty much everything past small foil (50 and higher). You might lose some small gold but in trashy areas if you start digging all signals in the 40 range, you will be on your knees digging bits of can slaw and foil wrappers forever with the...

F5 coil choice for 50 year old house demo lot

Cool tip. In trashy areas that will pay up with the 11" coil, you can be sure that the smaller 5" will pick up whatever the bigger coil left behind because of its inability to separate.

Fors CoRe finally got me some silver

Tested the FC24 5.5 X 9.5 coil on the CoRe again in the same area. I found a few wheats, old Canadian pennies and two silver dimes but I got fooled by a lot more bottle caps than with the small FC13. I'm quite sure the FC24 will go deeper and it covers more ground of course but my ability to...

Fors CoRe finally got me some silver

I found a few this past summer. A 1911, 1915 and a 1906. I found a 1892 last year in a different area. Stuff from the 1800's is hard to come by where I'm detecting now. I love pulling them out too but never as much as a silver coin.

    F44 or Gamma 6000

I like it too. It won't equal the OP's Snake coil for separation but I think it has a good mix of ground coverage and depth in less contaminated areas. The coil is relatively light and balances well on these machines.

    F44 or Gamma 6000

I don't think you would gain anything worthwhile by getting either one of these two models over your F5. I had the Omega 8000 V6 and the F44 at some point. I liked the Omega but not as much as my F5. I did not like the F44. It's a little deeper than the F5 but it's a noisy bugger. If you like...

Fors CoRe finally got me some silver

It's the only coil that allows me to distinguish between a rusty bottle cap and a coin just by the distortion in the high tone on a bottle cap. It makes a squawking sound that reminds me of our Canadian geese. It's not 100 percent guaranteed and I get fooled once in a while but not often. On...

Fors CoRe finally got me some silver

La belle province (Quebec). I'm closer to Montreal than Quebec city though.

Fors CoRe finally got me some silver

The biggest advantage I have is simply achieved by using that small coil. The deep detectors with the standard coils have all been here. The easy to pick targets are long gone.

Fors CoRe finally got me some silver

The CoRe strikes again one week later. With my first silver quarter of the year (1960) and another silver dime (1947). I also found the usual pennies and wheats from the 30's to the 60's. I was using the same great FC13 5" DD coil, DI3, sensitivity at 98, ID mask at 49 and ground balance at 71.

F19 can find very tiny stuff

That is the miraculous medal. I found one just like it earlier this year but not made of silver. The story behind that religious pendant is interesting. The year 1830 is engraved under her feet ?

Does anybody have a favorite setting for finding Jewelry and coins in trashy parks and playgrounds with G2+?

I'm hearing only good things from the sharpshooter coil. I have the 5 X 8 MGC and just got the Cors Shrew (NEL Snake). I have not tried it yet in a trashy park setting but will very soon.

    Patriot Finds Sterling Silver

From a long gone era when they used to make utensils like jewelry. Now it's all stainless crapola. Very nice find.

    Aftermarket coils and the Kruzer

The Cors Shrew I have has a stiff coil cable that seems to be pretty much like the coil cables from Nokta/Makro. The MGC cable is floppy. It's a lot more manageable but it can't have a braided shielding and be this limp. I figure that to sell the MGC coils at that price, they had to cut corners...

Fors CoRe finally got me some silver

Thanks Monte. At this time of the year winter is usually upon us although it's been so unpredictable these last few years. We usually get our first snow during the first part of November in Quebec Canada. Snow is not really my concern as it melts away before we really get into snow storms in...

Fors CoRe finally got me some silver

After almost a year of finding old penny after old penny and a few large cents (about 25 in all), the CoRe finally got me a trio of silver dimes in a short 3 hour hunt. I've been to this place time and time again and it is very challenging as it is loaded with rusty bottle caps and the woods are...

Does anybody have a favorite setting for finding Jewelry and coins in trashy parks and playgrounds with G2+?

First I would ditch the 11 DD coil in a trashy setting. You have a detector that separates well and the sharpshooter will make it even better. Personally I almost never use v-break, notch or discrimination. I set volume at 10 just because the sound of machine gun iron bugs me really fast...
