    new coil????

I can't comment on the 10x12 but the ultimate is one of my favorites and for a big coil it separates well in my opinion. My other favorite is the coltek 5x10 . I have other coils but those are the 2 that I swing the most.

    I'm back...

I didn't know you left but welcome back! I use TTF with open screen with some success but I prefer Conduct while listening for that unmistakable high tone and when I find it I swing over a dozen times just to hear it.

Stunning! You should quit your day job cause every time you go out you bring back a sack full of silver.

    Question RE: Thresh hold tone.

I'm a big fan of ttf and I use it often with some success and I personally think it makes me a better hunter since it makes me slow down and work the numbers with a wide open screen. It does work and after you make a few finds with it you will appreciate that option.

    It's a Walker

It turned up at a vacant city property that was built in 1925 . Using the 13" ultimate and it was 6" deep and it rang up 1-46 . This is my 3rd silver for the year.

    My 2020 Year End Totals

Wtg you had a great year ! My best year was a couple of years ago when I had 158 silver coins and the amount of time I averaged per week was 25 to 30 hours and I'm in an area that I hardly ever see anybody hunting. You must be swinging your arm off for those kind of numbers and you are...

    It ain't pretty but

Back at the vacant lot where the church used to be using the coltek 5x10 in Conduct this time.

    It ain't pretty but

Yeah, I understand about a pattern's purpose and my experience tells me that the etrac is a little weak in iron and that could be the slower response and for me the nulling is for real. I did the board test with the etrac and the $200 Mojave with a nail and a coin sitting next to each other...

    It ain't pretty but

Hey Elmy , I always run an open screen when using TTF because i want to hear everything but I will load the 110 out of curiosity . But looking at that pattern makes me think the etrac would be nulling way to much in a site littered with iron . Just my opinion until I try it of course

    It ain't pretty but

I found this 1917 Walker using TTF with the 5x10 coltek. It was hiding in a vacant lot where an old church used to be and the amount of iron was incredible and the etrac was sounding off like a machine gun and I had to work the high tone to get good numbers- 20-46 , 9-45 , 10-44 , co numbers...

    Sweet little surprise

Yeah I have found several silver dimes with lower id numbers but most still had the higher pitch sound which turns my head . The surprise comes when it sounds like a penny and turns out to be silver and for me that don't happen that often. I'm still searching for a seated anything. Maybe one...

    Sweet little surprise

Just another example as why we should always dig memorial pennies ( but I don't) unless like today I was hunting a historic district in a local town and this barber sounded just like and rang up 12-43 12-41 and I was expecting a memorial penny or maybe a wheat but not a silver so I guess the...

Have you ever watched a detectorist that is known as a pro hunt?

In our haste to find silver we forget the most effective way to hunt is with our common sense approach. Thanks for the reminder Elmy !
