First Silver With The T2 SE

With the summer behind us I am beginning to get back into the swing of things (no pun intended). I thought it was a good chance to give my T2 a real try after a few "trial runs" over the summer when I was getting used to it. During my outing I made a number of mental notes about what I like...

    White's VX3

Like Rob says, you can tell the difference by the size of the pinpoint area. You can also lift the coil off the ground 6 inches and if the signal is still loud and you get a shallow depth reading (2 or 3 inches), it's a can. Deep cans can really sound like coins, but if you get a 4-6 inch...

    10x12 SEF Coil??

I was referring to the fact that it was on backorder, and it may take a while for them to ship it, it wasn't a critique on their performance. I use mine all the time!

    New video and some news...

I know it is totally irrelevent but I just heard from the Minelab rep that the Sovereign series and the Explorer SE Pro are being discontinued. And,, here is my latest new video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nWtqxOMheMQ&hd=1

    People...sometimes I hate them.

I recently was stopped by a guy that told me he had just found a ring that morning with his Radio Shack special and he pawned it for $20K. I threw a few quarters and dimes on the ground and told him to go buy himself a cup of coffee to try to sober up.

The higher the number, the longer the tones are. The lower the number the shorter the tones are.

    10x12 SEF Coil??

I hate that they don't tell you that up front. These things are made in Europe, so don't hold your breath!

    10x12 SEF Coil??

I had the Super 12, which I was not a big fan of. Maybe it was simply because I also have the SEF 12"x10" and I didn't see the need for both.

    10x12 SEF Coil??

I think there is a definite depth advantage with the SEF. I can easily run it in Best Data, and it has a nice smooth threshold even with the RX up to 12 and the All Metal at 74 and the Disc Sensitivity around 92 (conditions permitting). I have found tiny gold with it as well as other small...

V3i Finds Beautiful Seated Liberty Quarter

You know when you get that tight pinpoint and 2.5 KHz dominant frequency that it's gonna be a good one! Congrats!

how much deeper, dfx compaired to v3 an vx3

This is where the V3i and DFX excel.

how much deeper, dfx compaired to v3 an vx3

I have never found either the V3i or the DFX to be the deepest detectors. I have two from other manufacturers that will go deeper, the V3i is still my favorite because there are other advantages that make it a much better detectors than the others. With the other brand detectors you will...

Does The V3I find Small Gold?

The Etrac and the Excalibur couldn't find this gold at more than an inch, but the V3i found it at 6 inches.

    Searching in 2.5 frequency

I think overall the best frequency for depth is 7.5 KHz. I don't want to miss the tiny targets that 2.5 KHz misses.

    Everybody???

Facebook groups have taken over where the forums once dominated. Most fellow detectorists I know are now posting less of their finds in the forums and more on FB. Just the evolution of the internet and social media. Not much you can do about it.

    Pinpointer Compatibility

Each has their benefits. The Minelab does not interfere with the detector as much as the Garrett, but i have gotten into the habit of hitting the menu key when I am pinpointing anyway. It also has an auto off feature, and will beep periodically if left behind to prevent loss. I think the...

    Pinpointer Compatibility

If I wave the Minelab near the V3i it will interfere, but for the most part I have no interference from it.

    Buyer's Remorse?

It is called second guessing yourself and no matter what decision you make you can make yourself crazy if you dwell on it. Do the research, make a decision and stick by it!
