    Ground Balancing the V3i and VX3

    Rather than unlock tracking, I simply leave the LockTrac on and every 30 minutes or so I ground balance.

    Ground Balance or No Ground Balance?

    I know that the manual says a ground balance should not be performed unless the ground is highly mineralized. In my experience, a good ground balance is imperative for maximum depth. Why is it better NOT to ground balance the CTX-3030?

    Should I Sell My Excalibur 1000?

    Deep!

    The 1862 Indian Head was more than 11 inches deep. Not a clear signal, but certainly worth investigating! The 1806 Half Cent wasn't very deep, but even at 7 or 8 inches they hit hard with this detector! This coin is my 20th copper found at the site over a 5 year period.
