    Finally Back to detecting again!

    I started with a Jetco Coinmaster, can’t get much lower line than that. Coincidentally, I found one of my best finds ever with it, a gold ring with 1 center diamond and 12 smaller diamonds. I’ve had 2 Jetcos, a White 5000D, 2 Tesoro’s, and 2 Minelab. We currently have 6 Minelabs in the family.

    Etrac problem with speaker and headphones

    If I remember correctly, the detector knows whether you’re using headphones or the speaker and the volume settings are separate. I think you can for example set your speaker volume for 20, then plug in your phones and set a different number. This is either Etrac or my 705 that did this.

    One of my better days

    I agree with the comment about ground moisture. I’ve always done better when the ground was moist. It believe that it tends to leach the oxidation of the coin out further. There have been many times that I revisit a recently hunted site and find more.

    What’s the school of thought on 47-48? Should I open it for chance of hitting big silver, or will it cause wrap around making it not worth doing?

    Duh….. I’m gaining on it. I confused what a pattern is and what a discrimination program is. Coming from an Xterra 705, this is much different. I think I’ve got more of it down now, soon to dive into accept and reject editing.

    I think what you have on your screen, if I'm understanding it correctly, is what I already have on my machine. It's a little stick-on plastic sheet that you put over the screen. I've already played with the contrast.

    Third trip to the same grove today, I think we're ready to move on now. 160 coins total over the 3 Sundays at the same grove.
