Quick stop at a yard sale leads to permission and silver!

Its always nice to think you are the first to detect a place, but it doesnt matter if it has been detected, there's almost always something left!

    Another week more gold!!! 👍😁

I bet that's a lot less drag now! Wonder if Coiltek will come out with a water hunting coil like the 14x9 they made for the Equinox line?

my eTrac needs to find a new home

PS If you havent sold it yet, I wouldnt worry too much about shipping costs. Check out pirateship.com. Free to join and they give discounted commercial rates, so its 20-70% cheaper than the rip off retail rates you get by paying normal rate. Been using them for years and highly recommend them!

    Another week more gold!!! 👍😁

The extra bracing on the coil is intended to keep it super stiff and not allow it to change shape over time as it can affect the coil windings and become corrupted. Or so Ive read. In a day when manufacturers are finding every way they can to make machines lighter and lighter, I doubt they...

New open space fields one gives up 1796 Spanish!

Thats crazy to hit any ole "random field" and make a find like that!

My best find in my own backyard

Gotta love those random finds! That old fencing had to be put up by somebody, or maybe a hunter passed through the area. Who knows, but it was there from somebody/some reason.

    Equinox Sunray NX-1 Probe

I thought that Demarco was the one who actually made a probe after he bought Sunray from Ralph? Or were none ever produced? Form information I had see/read, it sounded like the NX-1 was being made shortly before Joe passed away.

Sweet stuff! My only Barber half was a 1909 found along a sidewalk strip. The Etrac is a silver killer!

Manticore owners: Do i need 1?

I have the 900 and the Manticore; with maybe 40 hrs on the Manticore and over a thousand on the 800/900 platform. One thing I have noticed on the Manticore is its ability to handle tough EMI. Make sure to do a long press on noise cancel, as in hold the button down for at least a minute and...

    I am torn,,,, your thoughts?

The 6" can definitely find things the 11" misses, its a matter of targets being masked on the larger coil and the smaller one finding it because it reads so much less ground space. Check out the article on titled Beneath the Mask on dankowski detectors; its an eye opener! In my soil, I have...

    Equinox Sunray NX-1 Probe

Is there any plans to continue making the Sunray NX-1 probe for the Equinox? I heard a few were made and sold, but Ive never seen one.

Andy Sabisch book for the Manticore?

I'm sure he'll come out with the "advanced manticore tips and tricks" followed by the "really advanced manticore tircks", just like he did for the equinox. All three booklets put together dont even equal one Sabisch manual for size. Still some good tips/ideas in there, but milking every new...

Curb stripping after dinner this evening.

Love curb strips, especially in old parts of town! I know a guy who found a morgan dollar and a trade dollar along curb strips. Ive gotten a barber half and several barber quarters, silver and gold rings and the usual clad. Never know what will show up!

Who uses their wired headphones with the Equinox or Manticore detectors?

For water hunting, yes. For land hunting, normally not. The convenience of wireless is hard to give up once youve tried it. Some people claim there is a bit of sound degradation/integrity using wireless headphones (from interference, internal component issues etc) and I tend to believe them...

    Equinox 6” coil…?

Yes, a round coil without the support bars inside the loop. Supposed to be better for water usage, lighter weight and a bit deeper. Seems a bit odd to have a 5x8 that took forever to get ahold of, and now they introduce a similar size one, albeit with a seemingly different focus/application.

Coins - Coins - Coins; Going away?

History repeating itself. The large cent penny went bye because it was an inconvenience and was replaced by something "better". Guess electronic app payments and credit cards are "better" than coins nowadays
