    Culpeper horse shoes

A good farrier could give you the information you need. Horseshoes are still made the same way as centuries ago. These could be old or recent.

Is there any thing modern that compares to the SOV

I 've had a lot of the newer detectors, but the Sovereign for me has been best. For medium to large gold rings in most parks take the challenge with a 180 meter digging targets from 142-180 after 600 targets dug you should recovery gold. HH Ron

    Trying to update v 2.77 to v 2.78

I think the lower rod needs to be made out of more ridged material the slinky wobble gets old after a while. Maybe someone like Plugger will make a after market rod asm?

This old dog can still hunt!

Rick, you are one of the best Sovereign users around, learned a lot from you over the years. Yea I sold my Deus, Equinox and Two Noktas. For me the Sovereign works much better. Thanks Ron

This old dog can still hunt!

Been trying some new equipment the old Sovereign can still hunt with the big dogs. Sometimes I'll use my 21x17 this coil is deep and will still separate. Nice post Thanks Ron

    My GT, before and after

I used wireless on my Sovereign and noticed I missed some good targets. The older BBS coil is decent, but the newer small Tornado coil performs better. Nice job with the Sovereign. HH Ron

    souvereign got problems

Like Rick said it could be a battery problem. I purchased an older Sovereign for a backup which had all the symptoms of low batteries but it was a rusted battery pack clip and worked fine after replaced. Welcome to the forum, Good Luck Ron

    Analog vs Screen Machines

The Sovereign is probably one of the best detectors to search parks. The ID is primitive but deep, if you get a blip of a sound on this unit you can get a quick visual ID on a deep target.

    Equinox VS Explorer..

The original question will the Nox find targets the Explorer missed. I have searched parks that I have gone over with many different Explorers. Short answer the NOX with a 11 inch coil will out class the Explorer on depth by 2-3 inches in my ground. Over all the Explorer will ID targets better...

What Ghost Towns Have You Hunted?

GateKeeper, I searched this Ghost Town around 1975 using a Garret TR. I rode a old 441 BSA Victor from Kirtland AFB to Madrid and also hunted at Waldo NM alone back then, which no cell phone to call for help. I remembered staring in one of the homes in the photos and could almost see ghost from...

Discerning the sounds of silence, and other things.(One Hand Clapping)

Even though the Excal is a water detector a coin garden would probably help you with the tones, to ID targets. Another plus of a coin garden, bury targets at depths just at the outer range of detection, you'll be surprise how a little tweak of your coil speed, approach and angle will help you...
