    Finds from last week

Detected for about 3hrs this past Wednesday. Found some clad and a couple of pieces of costume jewelry. I've never seen a piece like the one with the pin-back and loop. Kinda looks like and upside down "thunderbird" design. It's stamped with "AS" or "A5" on the back. I'm pretty sure it's "AS"...

    Another .925 ring

Thanks Blind Squirrel. Since there aren't very many tabs or pull ring tabs a gold ring should stand out if one is there. Hopefully my next picture post will include a big chunky gold ring. Good luck to you!

    Another .925 ring

Was able to detect yesterday for about 2 1/2 hours before sleet & rain started. Found some clad & another silver ring. Again, nothing old but lots of clad and surprisingly not much junk. After a while I started passing up the zinc signals but will dig them next time. Can't wait to go back.

Can't find a good rain /dust cover for the V3i

Joe, I had a light weight nylon cover from White's that I had to completely remove to get at the battery. It was kind of flimsy & a bit of a pain to use. The cover I bought from Ukraine has a sturdy flap that wraps over the battery compartment lid & is held in place underneath the box with...

    Silver ring!

Thanks Blind Squirrel. The area I was hunting is an open area between two baseball fields. I remembered it had been used as a Pee Wee football field about 30 years ago. Not sure when the baseball fields were put in but it was at least 15yrs ago. I plan to go back to try to cover more of the old...

    Silver ring!

Got lucky last Wednesday and found another ring. Sterling (.925) this time. Also dug up a bunch of clad - a little over $9.00. Nothing old (not counting me) but it kept me busy for a couple of hours. Here's the pictures....didn't think anyone would be interested in seeing the scrap and foil.

    Struck Gold!

Here are some pictures of the coins & rings from the 9th. After cleaning the mood ring it isn't as nice as I thought. Hope this works.

Can't find a good rain /dust cover for the V3i

I bought my V3i cover from Ukraine on E-bay. Camo pattern in heavy material. Couldn't be more pleased. I leave the box cover on all the time and use the screen cover when needed.

    Struck Gold!

Got out to a park with a sports field for a couple of hours this afternoon. Dug up a few (16) clad coins and a nice mood ring a few inches deep. Then got a solid VDI of 48 with 7.5kHz dominant. Thought it was probably a ring pull tab but out popped a man's (or very large woman's) 10k yellow gold...

new 950 v rated coil for my V3i, love it. 1944 dime first 10 minutes

Explorer, I'd be very curious as to how the spider coil does in the water. I have the same problem with my 950 in the water. Very hard to hold underwater more than a few inches. I have a few freshwater sand beaches I like to detect and the EMI is terrible there so I almost have to use the 950...

10x12 or is it 12x10 sef coil

For me, it's the larger coverage I get with the 10x12. I'm still not convinced it's any better than the stock 10DD. It seems to handle EMI a little better and is maybe just a tad bit deeper in the right conditions but I'd say not more than an inch or slightly more. Good luck Ron

10x12 or is it 12x10 sef coil

I know a lot of people have posted problems with the 10x12 SEF. I have the black one for my DFX and the white one for my V3i. No problems with either. I can run the white one at max gain and even use boost with no problems where conditions allow. I guess I was lucky to get really good ones. The...

    Sledding hill

Ha ha! I hear you on the backhoe. Today we have sunshine but still cold. Tomorrow it's supposed to be near 40 & sunny again so I might try to get out in the afternoon. Congratulations and good for you on finding the wedding ring. It's always nice to be able to help someone out plus you probably...
