    White's Spectra V3i is a 'Legend'

The only programs I use is coin, coin & jewelry, and correlate (a modified C & J). I've used the others but, I gravitate to these three 👍. But mostly, it's the luck of the step 👍

    White's Spectra V3i is a 'Legend'

I started with the "Vision" in the spring of 2009 and boy it was a handful of a detector. Later I acquired a Spectra V3 and really liked both of them. I have presently a V3i. But my opinion is the first two had greater sensitivity and detection depth vs. V3i. I have a SEF 6x8 DD coil which I...

Cleaning coins in a rock tumbler

Waterdog, I use a dual drum tumbler from harbor freight. One drum has copper and zinc pennies; the other drum has clad and nickels. I use hot, hot water filled up to about 3/4 full, a squirt of dawn dish soap and about 5 to 6 oz. Of small fish gravel. I run it 4 to 5 hrs. I check things, and if...

How many remember the very first detector you started the hobby with and how long ago ??

I purchased a metal detector kit from Radio Shack in the spring of 1974. Built it and worked fine. Only got an inch in depth. Then purchased a Jetco Mustang. Got a little bit more in depth but, on the flipside alot more trash. I then purchased a White's 5000-D from a local dealer in...

How many still use a vintage classic detector from the 70's-80's?

Well Sven, I sure had fun (back in the day) with my White's 5000-D. Alot of knobs, switches and meter. We went to places that are now considered off-limits by the gov't. Silver was more plentiful back then and I had my share of nice finds. I owned Garrett's too. The best Garrett's detector...
