    Interesting I usually find myself preferring 26khz for most hunts with the ORX, whether I'm swing'n the 9"HF or the 13" X35 4khz- 3,7, 3.8, 4.0, 4,1, 4.2, 4.3 7khz- 7.1, 7.3, 7.5, 7.7, 7.9, 8.1, 8.4 12khz- 10.5, 10.8, 11.0, 11.3, 11.6, 12.0, 12.3 17khz- 15.2, 15.6, 16.0, 16.4, 16.8, 17.2, 17.7...

How to clean a found pocket knife

I've been experimenting with this product on the fragile iron for a couple years now with good results. These with preserved wood and bone handles from a Civil War camp, after a light wire brush and a heavy coat were done over a year ago and holding tight. Got the product at the auto store.

    Sound and screen

Shhh...might hurt them Nox'rs feelings. White's detectors are still ahead of most. Garrett could hit it out the park using White's tech like you mention and more, the Signagraph bar to ID trash, and my favorite feature all metal "Mixed Mode" which I see Tarsacci has utilized on the MDT 8000 ...

Wrapping the Coil Wire - Opinions?

Speaking of coil wires, wish Notka hadn't copied Minelab's poor design so closely. After 5 or 6 outings in the woods and thickets I hunt, the area pointed out kept getting hung up on branches so I had to can the ANFIBIO which was performing well in other aspects. Never been a problem before...

    Gain and Sensitivity

As Tom stated these do but I'll add a bit more info. There's 3 controls, AC is your discrimination sensitivity, DC is your all metal sensitivity, and the gain. One of the reasons I still swing my XLT from time to time.

    White's Spectrum XLT and Bullets

Yeah that thing between your ears is the best tool on whether to dig or not, but the xlt offers more tools than any detector I've ever used. The tone options alone are plenty, from being able to go 1 tone, 2 tone (Mixed Mode) or up to 190 tones (Tone ID). With Tone, VDI #, and the Signagraph...

    White's Spectrum XLT and Bullets

The only bullet that would come in the nickel range would be a 22cal.

    White's Spectrum XLT and Bullets

Relic program, turn on "Mixed mode" for the depth your going to need. Bullets will come in high tone and VDI #'s will roughly fall around the caliber of the bullet, Example ; a standard 58cal 3 ring will register 57-59, and a 44 Colt usually comes in at 44 -45. Though the deep bullets (12" or...

    Should I even complain ?

I have put my Garrett submersible headphones through much wear and tear over the years river detecting and they continue to perform well, maintenance free. They have outlasted all the headphones I've ever owned problem free. That being said, they also rank as the most uncomfortable headphones...

    My pin pointer is haunted...

Yeah mine has been doing this for a while now, and I have to give it a lil smack on the side to shut it off.

I found this blade metal detecting a civil war camp, does anyone know if this could be time period? I found it about 6 inches in the ground.

It just has that weathered look. I see your coil in the pic and also assume its as found, no dirt, not much rust, with visible pitting. Looks like one of those horseshoes I find hanging on tree branches.
