    I understand the difference between on and off sounds. The batteries in the headphones are brand new. I'll try channel 4.

    The power is set at max. I hear one tada not two. The battery power meter is low, about 9. I'll try fresh batteries and see if that does it. Thanks!

    Thanks, the manual step is what I need help with. I have a bigger problem now: had nothing but trouble with the wireless headphones. Can't get the detector to recognize the headset. Tried changing channels etc. Once I get it working it works, but I'm very frustrated.

    Upgraded from DFX to V3i and looking for advice. First, I don't exactly get the ground balance procedure. The manual basically says flip button, hold enter, and "pump" the detector 1 to 12 inches. The DFX was pretty obvious in this regard, and I doubt if I'm doing it right. I can tell the...

    Nice Hunt Today

    Spring is here so I went to a park in an old Minneapolis neighborhood. I've been skunked there before but after about 2 hours scored 2 silver dimes! The barber was 7" and the merc at 5". Using DFX with DD1400. Jim

    Let It Be A Lesson

    Just about to leave the park, I read a penny at 4.5 inches. I know it might be a wheatie, but I've found nothing today, so I dig carelessly. Out pops a newly scratched Indian head penny! Argh! Oh, well, it's well corroded, and either way, about to spend 30 years on my bookshelf. Jim
