    One of our hunts

Nice hunt. The reins guide (terret) and bells are great finds.

Back to same park and one I hunted a lot for a dime trifecta today.

A silver dime trifecta is a rare feat these days. Great hunt.

    Not detecting but still finding!

You'll be back to detecting by the time they get that out.

    pi pinpointers

I have a Teknetics Tek-Point and a Fisher F-Pulse. I use the Tek-Point as my main pinpointer because it seems a "bit" more stable than the Fisher F-Pulse. It also has less cross talk with the F 75. They are essentially the same pinpointer. The depth is the same on both.

    First merc

2023 Finds - Wishing You all the Best for 2024

Nice finds!... 16 silvers from your second year is great. That shows you're hitting the right spots. The flat buttons are a great indication that you're onto some very old sites that may have early silver. Good luck in 2024.

    I Have A Question

Many walking trails especially the older ones, have trees and bushes close to the trail itself. If that is the case, one of the smaller or mid size coils for your brand of detector would be better than a stock or larger size coil. The oldest park in my area dates to the 1870's and has a well worn...

Need help to ID this coil

I "tried" to ordered a Nel Sharpshooter coil for the Fisher F75 in November from the Nel Company website. The site accepted my order but the status for completion of the order is in limbo.

    Some finds I recently cleaned

From a badly crusted Indian Head to what is shown is quite a feat. How was it cleaned?

Need help to ID this coil

It looks like it has the same connection pattern as an F75 coil.

    Lucky Half Cent

Ronstar, They are scarce here in the midwest also.

    Lucky Half Cent

Rick,It's not a much rarer than the 13 star variety.

    Lucky Half Cent

It took over 40 years, but I finally found my first Half Cent yesterday. The site was a circa 1850 one-room schoolhouse field. The 150+years in the ground was not kind to the coin. After getting it home and cleaning it very carefully,I could tell that it was a Classic Head but seeing a date was...

    Last hunt with F75

The 2 Cent Piece is a great coin to find. Every one that I've found hits at 68 on the VDI scale. Do you remember what number yours hit at ?

MANTICORE HITS DEEP OLD LEAD SOLDIER

Good find. Finding 10 inch deep lead is a good sign that the Manticore is doing a good job.

    Barber quarter

That's a day maker. Nice one!

    A couple nickel finds

The 3 cent nickel is a very hard coin to find. It's still on my bucket list.

Cut silver (no clue!), buckle and pre-CW Great Seal button

The cut silver is a very small target, nice find. Might want to give some thought about cleaning the button. Sometimes cleaning makes them better, and sometimes they look worse. It's a nice button. Good hunt.
