Xterra Pro Beach Mode - is Minelab hiding its Dual Frequency?

That would determine whether there is more than one frequency in play, and if there was a wave form manipulation. But, if it's just in the firmware, a scope probably couldn't provide the solution to the question.

Xterra Pro Beach Mode - is Minelab hiding its Dual Frequency?

I think you guys are missing a big part of the picture here relative to Beach Mode. The Xterra series pioneered "all digital" detectors, which is the basis for my logic. IT'S ALL IN THE PROGRAMMING. They wrote a special program for 8kHz that's very different than the other three frequencies as...

Are the Equinox coils that work with Xterra Pro better then stock coil - do they help stabilize the VDI?

This is ABSOLUTELY the reason for the vast majority of the appearance of instability. I've said so in prior posts. IMO, it's the biggest mistake that Minelab made with the new Pro.

I would probably leave it as is. I can't imagine anyone cleaning and degreasing a chainsaw or motorcycle chain before getting rid of it.

Dirt and rust cause imperfections that result in cracked blades. It would need to be cleaned off with muriatic acid and some sort of boil-out/degreaser before any other work with it could begin. The best damascus has 512 folds for optimum strength. That's a lot of work if you don't have a...

    Cigarbox Guitars

I've been a Justin Johnson fan for a few years now He makes, plays, and sells 3-string Shovels, and it's nothing short of amazing.

As said, cable damascus can be really sweet, but the two most important things about making the billet are getting the cable clean enough and having a fire hot enough to forge weld in. Old chainsaw chains and motorcycle chains make some nice patterns, too.

    🏁 Quick.. Dumb.. X-Terra Pro Question 🏁

Shouldn't be too long before they're available here. I've seen them for sale on sites in the UK.

NEED some feed back on the X-Terra pro

Minelab currently doesn't make any other X-Terra Pro specific coils, but all the Equinox coils work with the Pro. They are supposed to release more coils specifically for the Pro sometime, but nobody seems to know when.

For a hobbyist that just wants something for heating and beating on, it's probably just fine. For what I do, I wouldn't give it a second glance. My Hay-Budden and Trenton anvils are much better suited to my work. I have a Mankel anvil, but it's more a nostalgic thing for me and I never use it...

It's also noisy, which is one reason that I personally hate it.

They are available from a myriad of places, but I just got these off of Ebay.

    New little buddy

Ex-wife #1 was camping one time, and had a cat rubbing against her leg while she sat in a chair next to the fire. She was about to reach down to pet it but looked first and discovered that it was indeed a cat.......a polecat. She just ignored it and eventually it wandered off.

He's full of crap. According to him, the harder the better, and he couldn't be more wrong. Rebound is important, but it's not what's most important. When you make your living in the fire, and you're working over an anvil all day every day, that super hard anvil will tear you up, and you're not...

If you're going to buy a new one, I would highly recommend an Emerson. At the same time I have to recommend that you don't get a JHM. They are too hard, and it'll wipe out your elbow. Used, you can often find an old Vulcan pretty cheap. They're an industrial pattern that a lot of folks don't...

Just ordered the pin material for a few. I got two different designs that are similar but not same. I still have to decide which G10 I want. It will likely be layered, but I can't make up my mind what colors to go with.

I'll post it when it's done, but don't hold your breath or anything, because I've got so many irons in the fire that I hardly know what direction I'm going in. Paying work has priority, and this time of year my schedule often changes from hour to hour. I'm looking forward to seeing what you've...
