CEIA CMD Metal Detector with GSMD-GPS Unit

Interesting to know what's out there. The minelab ctx had a geo hunt and could record find points. It would also alow you to grid hunt an area by "blacking" out the field. I would like to learn how to overlay maps.

    First Equinox Gold of 2024

Nothing wrong with the finds or the detector in my opinion! I have found a lot of nice goodies with my 800. I have moved on to the Manticore and really starting to gel with it. The WM9 is a must in my opinion.

Tempted to say it’s a trigger guard but doesn’t seem like it is

I would concur with the trigger guard theory. A drawer pull would have 2 holes as a trigger guard typically has one with a tang {yours missing} on the opposite side. The profile is the typical of a trigger guard as well. Hawkin and others used iron trigger guards.

I can tell a site that was hit early in detecting times probably 35-40 years ago

Turn of the century horse track for me. Nothing left but dimes and down on this site and lots of them along with wheats, Indians and nickels. They just hit the big silvers! HH Jeff

    Gas valves

Gas lights would be the equivalent of lamps in a house today. They were quite decorative as these are. The tumbler was a great idea!

    Nox settings

Coke/ slag can kill depth on any detector. The falseing can be another issue on bigger chunks. Niel jones has a video on this very issue I believe it's called Coke and detect it to. Feild 2 is designed around the coke issue. Single frequency can always be tried.

I couldn't agree more with your outlook, people can be the greatest treasure! Oh, by the way the breast plate has been my white whale even after 50 plus years of detecting! HH Jeff
