Anyone Still Using The 70 or 705?

Found this on another Board.......... Minelab manufactured the X-Terra 50s and X-Terra 70s in Ireland. I owned both models and found them to be as good as any mid level detector made in 2005 to 2008. When the X-Terra 705, 305 and 505s came out in 2009 they were still made in Ireland I think...

Anyone Still Using The 70 or 705?

I've read that any made with a serial # below 3000 were made in Ireland.

Anyone Still Using The 70 or 705?

Sad day, I used my Low serial #70 yesterday and the notch indicators on the bottom of the screen have disappeared. The only way they show up is you notch out a segment. Still works, I always use all metal 2 tones anyways, never use the other patterns or notch anything out. Good thing is, I have...

Anyone Still Using The 70 or 705?

I have 2 70's and a 705. Have just bought the Nox 800 and have hard time weening off of the X-Terra. They have been real good to me since the beginning. Some have touted the Nox 800 is a replacement for the X-Terra, I see no compare to the X-Terras at this point. Keep in mind that I'm a strict...

    Equinox getting dumped

I'm the same with the X-Terra 70 & 705. Used the X-Terras since 2005 and have found loads of CW Relics.

Finally got to dig some relics.

I have found those, they really used them for a nipple protector more than a removal tool.

    Another One For The Collection

Found another 70 locally for $200 with the HF 10.5DD to add to my herd, I'll have one for each different coil that I have for them. I'll sell the coil to one of my buds and be in it on the cheap! I bought the Nox and I'm just not sold on it yet for the relic hunting that I do.

    Any regrets?

I'm still on the fence, reservations, whatever you want to call it on the Nox. I am strictly a relic hunter and the Nox has not performed really any better than my X-Terras 70 or 705. I'll give it a few hunts more and carry both to compare. Nice thing is I will not loose much money if I decide...

    Vista Warrior Tips

Just got one and would like some tips on hunting old house sites and CW campsites loaded with nails. Have had the RG 1000 and Gold in the past and they were pretty good at sniffing out buttons in heavy iron. So, is it wise to investigate a high tone peep going one way? What's the best...

    XTerra 70 vs. the 705

I have 2 low serial number X-Terra 70's. Have tried twice with the 705 and always went back to the 70. The bullets in my avatar pic were found at 12" deep with a little high tone in the iron nails. I always use the 18.75 10" DD coil for relic hunting.

    Old Bounty Hunter 1

I have the 1st detector I ever owned, problem is, it doesn't work anymore. It's the old BFO, 1 tone type. Does anyone even work on a detector this old? Would love to get it going again. Also have my second detector, a Bounty Hunter Red Barron from 1976, same thing, needs work.

    Xterra 705 old stock?

I'm with Old Longhair on this, the 705 is one of the best single frequency machines ever made, although I still prefer my 70's that I have.

    It's Been Awhile.....

Have not been on here for a few years, mostly busy with other things in life. Decided to get back to relic hunting. Still a rabid X-Terra 70 fan, as I have dug hundreds of bullets and buttons with them, yes I have 2 early production models, the best out there! I have a dear friend that is a...

MXT 300 12" Coil vs Super 12 Coil

The coil on the "300" is a little different than the "Super 12" The coil cover for the Super 12 is too small for the 300 coil, so there must be some kind of difference in the two...........................

Is The XLT E Series Deeper Running Than The MXT?

I have a XLT on the way and I have had the MXT. Is the XLT any better in mixed mode for relics?

Went to my fav campsite and found a a few. Seems as thou the 50 has the same depth as the 70 when relic hunting with the 10.5 DD 7.5 kHz coil.
